Following the advice of Messyrena, we tried out a slime of shaving cream, glue, and contact solution. Very simple to mix and we really liked the outcome - a fun, fluffy slime that cleaned up super easy and made for a couple hours of play. Video posted on UMD and to YouTube.
Can you give some more detailed instructions? It looks amazing, but as someone who hasn't done much non-food wam, how is it for taste, smell, cleanup, etc? I can't imagine being engulfed in that much goop and not getting any in your mouth.

The initial planning was for a typical cool whip, graham cracker pie crust, plus cake batter slime. I have always avoided non-food, especially shaving cream. However, I came across the gallon jug of Elmer's glue and gave it a shot - very pleased with the results and the clean-up.
Recipe was around 8 cans of shaving cream mixed with a gallon of elmer's school glue and a small bottle of contact solution. All in all it was about $35 with the most expensive item being the glue at about $24 a bottle at Wal-Mart. I started by emptying the shaving cream cans into a mound and then pouring in the glue as I mixed by hand with squirts of contact solution as I went. The key ingredient to monitor is the contact solution, which has boric acid and acts as a binding agent. Too much contact solution makes it very elastic and not stick well, but with mixing you can add to your desired consistency. Keep the contact solution nearby as you can use it to lift the slime from your skin during clean-up if it is too sticky. Literally squirt the contact solution on you and the slime slides off.
Since it's non-food, it doesn't taste good so we avoided it in our mouths as best as we could. No rash or skin issues afterwards, though it does leave your hair a bit drier than using cake batter. Overall, it was easy to prep, easy to clean (washed right down the drain), and had a great visual, especially if you add tempura paint to it. Sadly Kate may be more attached to this than pie and slime given the effort involved so beware if your SO has already bought into pies and slime with you
This recipe was shared with me by Messyrena who's prepared some awesome videos in it as well.
