I just saw a comment on a video somewhere that Phoebe passed away, is this true? She was my all time favorite wam model and the first girl I saw get pie on the internet! I know she left the WAM scene but is it true that she passed?

Obits don't say any more how someone died, which is probably for the best.
She was about my age and I hope I am not that old, but I am getting there. As (older) people here have said often, she was one of the first WOW Wam models that appeared on the scene when I was starting to get online. I still remember running across the lo-rez pics-- not even the video-- of the pie sandwich and being blown away.
Hard to believe it was back in the 1990s. You can watch those scenes now and the dress, the film quality-- hell, even the background music-- put me back in that time period. Now we have HD and hot, nude OnllFans models but, to me, there is nothing quite like those old 1990s scenes.

Obits still routinely say how someone died, and "passed away suddenly" is widely used as a euphemism for suicide or overdose.

This sucks because a lot of her scenes, especially the ones with her friends, still hold up incredibly well. I guess she was just a pretty damn good performer that she could appear to be having fun when she really didn't want to be doing WAM as a whole

I just want to stress that her dislike for doing WAM was based *solely* on what WAMTEC witnessed when he booked her for a pie shoot with Lenny.
I have that footage, and I even remember at the time thinking, "Something seems off, this isn't near as good as her other stuff."
It's entirely possible that she DID enjoy getting messy, especially early on, especially since it was something her partner enjoyed. I could see her being burned out a year later when she did that WAMTEC shoot, and if her relationship was on the ropes by then (again, just speculating).... That couldn't have helped.

I think we can all enjoy Phoebe's old scenes while also separating this mythical image of "Phoebe, the first true female WAMmer" from the more modest "Phoebe, a very attractive Canadian woman who made a bunch of great scenes in the early days of online WAM."

Phoebe was indeed a real person, because I met her and did around a dozen shoots with her when she came to my ranch with her boyfriend in tow. To add to what Rich said, it was not just the pie shoots that she was uncomfortable doing, but she also did several wetlook carwash and hot tub shoots as well. We did our best to make her feel more comfortable by only shooting the mildest of wet and messy scenes in a light hearted way, with nothing too demanding of her, but she felt uncomfortable appearing in scenes with our other models. I was just the cameraman and Lenny and her boyfriend were directing the scenes.

It is ironic that the term "Legend" was later attached to her, because I always thought of her as the "Reluctant" WAM model, under the influence of her boyfriend.

Our other girls and the crew all tried to make her feel welcome, but she still felt uncomfortable so we left her out of several shoots we planned to do with our more boisterous models and she mostly did solo shoots with Lenny on her own because she preferred to work alone.

She was a pleasant girl, who was under the influence of her Svengali like boyfriend. She was a real person, but the illusion of a legend was all created by her boyfriend.

Lets not forget that sometimes Producers can create an imaginary person for a good reason and deploy that person in a positive way, i.e. Bill Shipton had his Splosh magazine alter-ego "Heidi" answering readers letters and promoting the wam culture, and she was just Bill's alter ego and this was done in a positive way to entertain the wam fans.

Don't forget that Phoebe wrote a second book, this one dealing with her (mis)adventures as a fetish model. I do not own this book, but surely someone on the forum does.

Wow. You can learn so much here at UMD! Lol. I appreciate everyone responding, Thank you Rich (huge fan of your work as well) and WAMTEC (yours too ) for sharing so much information on the "Phoebe" saga. Rest her soul. She seemed so in to WAM in some of her earlier scenes, albeit there seems to be some scenes I was totally unaware of. I think you may be right in saying she may have at one time enjoyed WAM but maybe over time it became exhausting. Which I can totally understand, especially if it is shared with a boyfriend you are potentially on the outs with. Speculating obviously.
And that seems to strange because I do recall being nuch younger and chatting with "PhoebePie" on AOL instant messenger, now I am wondering if the entire time it was her boyfriend which would make so much more sense in hindsight......

Personally, I think she is a legend. And that is mostly because she is one of the first WAM models I found on the internet. Reluctant or not she was f'n amazing. That pie sandwich is still the greatest I have ever seen. And knowing the truth about her actual feelings towards WAM does not diminish her incredible work in my opinion but it does make it an even more interesting story...honestly it could be a Netflix documentary lol.

book or bookS? Wondering what they are even about. She was such a beautiful girl, and it was heartbreaking to hear that she passed...

Nevermind, found the book. "Perils of a Suburban Party Girl" by Phoebe Rodriguez. Fitting. Is there really a second book?
