Looking to tar and feather a girl I meet up with occasionally for WAM fun. What do fellow US-based WAMmers use for tar? I need something that's readily available and doesn't cost a fortune to buy enough of to cover an entire body. I've considered chocolate syrup but its so runny that it doesnt stick to skin very well and most of it just winds up in the bottom of the tub. What do you guys recommend?

I have asked this same question. I'm told molasses works great. I haven't had a chance to find out yet, but start there. DM me if you have questions. I have researched the topic pretty extensively for customs in the past 2 years.
I used bentonite clay powder mixed with karo syrup and black acrylic paint. Can add some dry oats for texture. Thin with water if necessary. I used a heavy duty paint and mortar mixer. Very thick and sticky. Washes off well with warm soapy water. If using dry oats in mix, the hair may need extra shampooing.

Just curious, did feathers stick well to that? How expensive was that?
Yes, feathers stuck pretty good. We actually also did a tar and feather scene but the camera died just before the feathers. I think we mixed up 5 gallons of the stuff for around $50 to $75. We also made some with molasses instead of the karo. It has a pretty strong smell, though.
Cake Mix/Karo Syrup/Black Paint works pretty well too. Not as expensive as the clay recipe, either. I just like the clay recipe because, to me, it mimics tar's tenacity. You can't just wipe it off with a cloth. Go straight syrup in either recipe and it is very sticky....great for feathers, lol.
