We finally got a chance to do our second test of splatteremporium.com gunge and I am happy to report it was successful A while back we did a poll to see which outfit to use for the test: https://umd.net/forums/gunge-test-outfit We wanted to use an all white outfit to see how well the gunge covered, and see how well it washed off. The white formal gown that won the poll was actually brand new with tags before the test. Not sure if it was from a wedding that was called off or a bridal shop that went out of business, but for whatever reason, this gown ended up at our local thrift store so we picked it up for what I'm sure was significantly less than when sold at retail
For this test, we wanted to see if the 12 volt water pump we use to fill the dunk tank would be able to pump gunge. This is a relatively inexpensive pump we bought at Harbor Freight: https://www.harborfreight.com/12v-dc-transfer-pump-290-gph-63324.html?_br_psugg_q=12+volt+water+pump It is meant to be used with clean water, but so far it has survived pumping 1,000 gallons (about 3,800 liters) of stream water filling our dunk tank twice this summer. I wasn't sure if it would be able to pump the thicker gunge but it actually did ok I did have to occlude the end of the 3/8 garden hosing with my thumb to make it shoot as far as it did in the video. The outlet hose was about 4 feet long. And I don't know how the longevity of the pump motor will be effected by pumping the thick gunge, but the motor did not seem to be struggling severely in this test.
The gunge washed off Andi easily, and off the gown fairly easily. There was a bit of a green tint after the initial washing of the dress, but a little bleaching and it looked good as new And on a side note, if you pay close attention in the video you may notice when the halter top of the gown came undone under the weight of the gunge! Andi did her best to prevent a full on wardrobe malfunction Now that we know this set up works to pump the gunge, the next chore will be making a gunge tank
Ive been wanting to use a pump but i want one that will work with chunky slime. I have a couple of pumps that i use for beer brewing but i dont want to use/contaminate them with slime. Once that stuff is used for anything other than beer brewing they should never be used again for beer brewing.
We recently used just a hand pump for gunge and it worked well also.
Glad to see somebody using an electric pump as well. Nice

This is great! Out of curiosity, what thickness did you use for these? I've so far tried out the standard and the thick, and I'm really curious to see what the extra thick looks like next...

I doubt this pump would work with chunky slime (or properly thick slime in general). My thoughts off hand would be a dirty water pump but the only experience I have with those are gas powered ones with fireman size hosing, a bit much for your purposes Maybe someone on this board has experience with a sump pump? Could that handle chunks or do they have some kind of filter?

The orange gunge was regular thickness and the green was extra thick. At the time of our last order they had not yet offered ultra thick gunge so we have no experience with it
