So I've been experimenting with keeping slime in a 25gallon bin with lid on that I keep heated to have it ready to use.. to make sure it would not go bad I have put a table spoon of chlorine I use for my hot tub.. well the good news is after 6 weeks it smells like a clean pool.. but the bad news is it is no longer slimy.. Turned It back almost to water.. So.. when it was time to use it again I though I would add some Tylose powder again.. I couldn't get it to thicken.. oh well we still had some fun. Any advice on how to keep slime for a longer period without it going bad?

I'm curious about the heating element - How are you going about doing that?
Hi! So using HydroXyethylcellulose (HEC) powder Natrasol. Works great when I originally mix it. Easy to mix and good yield of thick slime.
As for heating currently using a water bed heater (mat that goes bellow a water bed) and it's wrapped around my 110l plastic bin. The temp probe inside the bin with the slime. I have another bin on top of it where I store things like pump, hose, inflatable pool, tarp. It helps with the insulation. That small room is locked and has a drain on the floor. I've covered the flood with rubber mats that connects in one another and made a hole for the drain. Also have a small heater in that room. It helps that the room temperature stays warm. I'm planning to improve this heating setup by adding a insulation panel below the bin. There's a type of panel that is lined with foil . I will put the heating mat on top of that panel and add the bin on top of it should be a bit more efficient. Adding an insulation panel on top of the bin wouldn't hurt. Last time we used it slime was at 94F not bad
