I'm looking for some assistance in either being pointed to some good slime recipes utilizing Cake Batter and Water or Pudding, or anything with a Chunky texture that might wash down a hotel shower drain easily.
I feel like this information should be readily available, yet I have no clue were to start looking for it.
Preferably something that won' t get stuck in her hair either.
Unfortunately I can't offer too much advice, however I know that you should avoid flour unless it's gluten free (I think it was Candy Custard who offered that advice originally).
Apparently it's the gluten that ends up hardening and causing those little balls of stuff to form and which are impossible to wash/brush out without at least taking a few strands of hair with them.
In terms of slime using cake batter, the Betty Crocker pre-mix stuff is good, just add water to the thickness you desire.
It may also be worth checking out the Wiki (https://umd.net/wiki), there's lots of info there about various slimes and recipes.
Cake mix you can buy at the store works well with just adding water and mixing till it's the thickness you want. Brands like Betty Crocker, Pillsbury and Duncan Hines are great options if you are in the US. Also in the US at Walmart there is a brand called Alma's that is already pre colored (see the latest album on my profile for example) but be ware the hot pink will stain white tile but didn't stain my skin.
cake batter is great super easy to use and washes away easily. As was mentioned you can get pre colored mixes or you can get a small box of different food coloring drops. If you check the stores around like easter or halloween you can even get some interesting colors to use. As for being chunky you will need to add like say applesauce or oatmeal to the the right consistency. Oat meal can be challenging to go down the drain but apple sauce should be fine. I generally use 2 boxes of cake mix and add 2-3 cups of water to start then add more as needed and i keep a few extra mixes on hand incase i need to balance it out. Buying the quick oats cheapest you can get works well.
"Chunky texture" and "easily wash down drains" are generally opposites. Dropping as much as possible down the toilet is much less likely to block drains.
Rolled oats/porridge oats are great for adding a rough looking texture which has smaller bits. The MessySupplies Jeli mix is a hyper-absorbent polymer and is great for adding bigger lumps. (there will be other suppliers available if you can't afford the international delivery)
It's worth noting that hotel drains are typically bigger to accommodate for what guests put down them, as well as having substantially more rodding points.
Having said that, if you're found to have intentionally blocked a drain (e.g. by having some messy fun), you are likely to face a heavy fine.
SothernWam nailed it. Cake mix and water is perfect and easy to mix and easy to get the right consistency. And it's fairly inexpensive. Walmart brand white cake mix is less than a dollar per box. I like to use three boxes of cake mix per slime. I just had a big messy session the other night using 8 slimes. Took 24 boxes of cake mix. Lol.
I just kinda eyeball it running it under the kitchen tap. Always start with less than you think you'll need and start mixing. It will be super thick. Then just add a bit more and stir some more. Repeat until you have the consistency you want.
I used to come here asking the same messages and messaging producers how they make their pies to get bland responses like I was trying to steal their secret recipe haha. Honestly it's all trial and error... Depending on what consistency you want cake batter, pudding and oatmeal are good for a base, then add other ingredients to make it to your liking. Wouldn't suggest oatmeal in a shower or bath drain though. You can also mix whipped/shaving cream into slime to make it "creamier". Pudding and whipped cream make a good "chocolate mousse" slime... Hope this helped!
Being in the US and methylcellulose and other types of "gunge" being nigh unobtainable, pudding has always been my go to. Plus if you go with vanilla, you have an easier time making different colors with other things if you want say "green slime".
The gluten thing with cake batter is worth taking into consideration depending on how much you use, how much hair is involved, etc. Gluten free mixes, although somewhat pricier, will mitigate that a bit.
Other reminder is that a bit o' lemon will help kill the dairy smells.
