Looking for good and affordable recipes for slime and gunge. Also if they can be made in bulk, that would be great. Anything you guys have, either post it here or shoot me a message. Thanks all!
This is the qty for a starting batch, the photos of me in the bath tub had about 4x this amount.
*1 gal of Emers Glue *6-8 (of more) cans of shaving foam *2 tbs of baking soda *2 8oz (or bigger) bottles of contact lens solution (must has boric acid in it ) *Water
Start by mixing the glue with about a gallon of water in a large tub, the tube needs to be big enough that you can mix every thing, for small batches a Rubbermaid container works well, large batches a bath tub is best
Add in the backing soda and mix.
Add the shaving foam (this takes forever with how slowly the cans empty) and mix.
Now start to add the contact lens solution, I normally add both bottles which make it sure thick and then add water to thin it to the point I like.
The clean up is easy, just shower it off with water. It does burn if it gets in your eyes.
You can store it for a while if you like, although the foam only seems to last about 24 hours before breaking down, after that you are just left with thick gluey slime which can be fun too.
You will need: Coloring (optional, use washable paint, or food coloring) Elmer's Glue Purex Sta-Flo Liquid Starch Water
Process: Mix 1 cup glue with 3 cups of water and the coloring until it looks the way you want it too. Make sure it is mixed completely. You can change the amount of water to glue if you want, 1 to 1 will make the slime thick like Gak, anything more than 4 to 1 will be too thin to polymerize.
Slowly add 1 cup of the liquid starch, keep mixing (with hands work best) until it is consistent, some times you need to let it sit for a little while. If it is too thick you can add more water, but do it slowly, it will take a while to mix more water in.
After it is the consistency you like it is ready to use, I have never had an issue with clear, it washes up with water.
You can get glue by the gallon on amazon and at some craft stores.
Extremely simple "slime" that I use. Shouldn't stain clothes btw.
- white shaving foam (e.g. Barbasol brand) - glycerin soap dye or mica powder (check your local craft stores; food dye might work as well) - warm water
Add a lot of colour and a little bit of water. Mix vigorously until your arms get tired. Repeat until it's watered down to the consistency you want.
On the other hand, if you want slime that's sticky and stretchy rather than blobby and splattery, try Stella's recipe.
