Hi Everybody, Anyone know of a shaving foam brand in the UK that doesn't sting the eyes so much? Just did another set with it, but the stinging forces me to cut it shorter than I would like. Thanks
Are you leaving it out in the air? If you are making pies. Make then up, then leave them out. This gets rid of the sting. Same if you are just squiring in a bucket/bowl.
Using it straight out the can, will cause stinging due to the gases in the aerosol.
Also medicated/sensitive shaving foam, also takes longer to get rid of the sting. Agreed, some are worse then others.

How long should it be left out? I like to warm up the cans in some water first to get it really creamy when it shoots out. So regular is better than sensitive?
So for shaving foam pies that are kind to the eyes:
- Barbisol is a good brand (looks like you can get it online if you're not in the US) - put the cans in slightly warm water to warm them a little for creamier foam (SAFETY: DO NOT put the cans in very hot water, they could explode!!) - leave the pies out for a while, to let stinging chemicals evaporate - avoid the sensitive skin versions, they have more eye-stinging chemicals
Any more tips, please add them - looking forward to trying this out.
BTW, if a certain gent is reading, yes, I did try that shaving foam pie thing you asked for in the recent set, sample coming in the next few hours.
I use Sainsbury's 'Mens Sensitive Shave Foam' and I don't experience much in the way of stinging (and I don't usually leave them to settle for too long either). The warm water trick plus vigorously shaking the can before spraying results in lovely thick and fluffy pies!
I find Gillette irritates me the most, particularly my skin.

In Canada can only really get shaving foam from Gillette brand. Barbasol not here or hard to find. Great profile photo, that's how I want to be when I get messy.

When you say a little while to leave them out, how much time? 5 minutes? 30? an hour? I'm in Canada, where can I find Barbasol?
The last sessions I had, I used a few different brands. Boots own brand and Erasmic made the best pies because, as well as being cheap (both roughly about £1 a can) they expanded brilliantly. I got about 5 pies from each can. They also don't sting much if you leave the pies out for a good few minutes before you start a session. I also used Nivea and Gilette sensitive. Neither of those stung my eyes either, although those ones are more expensive. Just to also repeat what a couple of other folk have said here. Warm the tins up in some hot water to help expand the foam for bigger, fluffier pies and, once made, let them sit out for a few minutes to let the alcohol evaporate and reduce stinging. Happy pieing

I can see Barbasol available online for UK delivery in 3-packs, try Amazon. Not cheap, though. For how long to leave pies out, I'm passing on advice but I'd think under five minutes for solvents to evaporate, without the foam drying out. Gonna try it.

Ooops... Sorry ScotsPie, leave them out for "a good few minutes"

In Canada Walmart caries Barbasol or at least they used to as that's where I used to buy it.

Only private sellers thru Walmart online marketplace, packs of 2 to 6 cans going for $50 to $100! I will try to use regular instead of sensitive and leave it sitting out a few minutes before use. Hoping to replicate my profile photo, I'm switching to new brand of pie cust I hope will stick better and I look like Janet!
