On this forum we're very lucky to have a number of people - both individuals and couples - who share with the rest of us pictures and videos from their private messy sessions.

I wondered, if you are one of these 'amateur' contributors (i.e. not a producer who is selling their material), what's your motivation for sharing things on the forum?

Is it an exhibitionist thrill, either for you or your partner?
Does making pics or video from the session make it more 'real' in some way?
Is it an altruistic urge to give something back to the community?
Or perhaps another reason?

I'd certainly be really interested to hear different peoples motivations, and indeed whether within couples each person has the same reason/s for 'going public'.

I ask as someone who has never shared any pics from my sessions with Mrs Piechap on here. That's something I feel a little guilty about, having enjoyed so many others wonderful content over the years. Mrs P has a job where posting herself on an adult forum would be a definite no-no, so the question of whether we might has never come up. However, even if that changed I suspect we are both too shy to ever share pics or vids of ourselves, which I guess adds to the fascination of knowing what motivates those that do!

I think it's fair to say there are a few reasons I add pictures...

Firstly, it feels like proof I've done a dare, if anyone asks I can show them, girls rarely do ask...but this is my backup in case they ever accuse me of faking a report...

Secondly, it feels like a right of passage on this site, it shows people how serious I am about my interest...

Thirdly, it is an exhibitionist thing in part...

Fourthly, for me...as I often have to mess alone it does make it feel more real to me and is a bit of a momento of the effort that has gone into a task...

I generally only get messy if I lose a game to a girl, or take a dare from a girl

Let me start by saying I've been there - done that, complete with photos, but now it's a private thing between us only. I do sometimes dabble with a 12 inch silicone figurine, with messy settings and scenarios. My reason for sharing these figurine photos? I find it a challenge to take photos and make them look real. But it's very time-consuming and lately I just don't have a lot of free time.

This is a very good question, and you often pose ones that require some thought. I really appreciate that here.

Needless to say I don't. There's a few reasons for that, some of them are what you would consider more obvious ones. I don't do much Wamming, or my partner wouldn't consent, I'm fat, hairy, I'm shy (granted, I have no problem showing my face, using my real name or even giving people my phone number) etc.

There's some other reasons though. I have some rather serious body shame issues. Not necessarily your typical shame either. I have surgery scars, some of which have left emotional scars too. Ones when a doctor or nurse reads about it in my chart, they want to see it (usually because they haven't seen it before)

Not only are some of them weird looking or embarassing, but would otherwise be distracting to a viewer. They most certainly aren't 'sexy'. Maybe they affect me more than others would think if they saw them. But either way, they're a reminder to me that I'm not quite whole anymore, and that somethings will never look or even work the same way again.

It started off as just a way to add another layer of excitement to our pie sessions. Posting some pics from our sessions (my face obscured...for now) and getting to see some of the reactions was fun. I've met some interesting people on here and have enjoyed the comments and compliments on my photos so I continue to post more. This forum has also provided me with some great tips and ideas to bring back to our sessions, which he is very happy about.

I'm sure there is an element of exhibitionism in my wanting to share but I also feel that I want someone else to enjoy what I do as it is an expensive hobby to keep to myself. I am sure, like most posters, I love getting feedback as it makes it feel worthwhile (not that I get much!). I also hope to inspire other people who haven't got messy to give it a go. It doesn't matter what you look like or how messy you get as long as you enjoy it.

Really great question, and I'm not sure I know the whole answer where I'm concerned, but I'll have a go. I love sharing my pics and vids, and it's almost like an extra thrill after the high excitement of the session itself. Interestingly I'm quite introverted, but I have this exhibitionist side that's allowed to slip out in all it's glory on occasions. It's also like a vivid collection of fond memories that were really special to me. Think that's It!

I mean I've had a few solo sessions, but when I told my gf that I am into WAM, she was all for it. Took pictures of ourselves (which is on my page currently, check them out please). We absolutely loved it. It was something new to her and she loved it. We do it for the fun and sexual thrill it brings us.

Truth is I love pictures that turn me on. They may even be of myself or my partner; but of the time when I was young, slim and I believe sexually attractive though I am still a bit of an exhibitionist. I rarely post now because like us all, I've suffered the effects of advancing years. In other words I've got fat in the wrong places. Young, slim bodies turn me on, especially if they're sexually aroused. Pot bellies and fat bodies turn me off. Basically I love to turn others on.

Having read through a lot of the posts on here I would say that I share a similar experience to many. I've only ever self wammed and it took a lot of courage (for want of a better word) to actually do it. Often I would want to do something and then talk myself out of it. By becoming active on here it gave me the confidence to actually do it, the photos helped to make it more real. And remind me of what I've done. It's also been good as my stuff has generated alot of feedback, allowing me to see myself in a different way. I've never thought of myself as a hot or attractive guy, but people on here have shown me that I'm better than I thought. It's also helped to start conversations showing me that it's ok to like this stuff and I'm not alone.

As time has gone on I guess there has been a bit of exhibitionist going on. In my last gunge set I became wotd a few times so I uploaded a few extra pics that normally I wouldn't dare to do. They were only supposed to be here for a while but they are still here. Everytime I see them it brings a smile to my face, as does the comments others made. It's helped me become so much more confident in other aspects of my life so I will continue to post them as a way to thank for the community to help me become a better more improved version of myself. But also because I enjoy it and the reaction of others. They may even get more fun!

For us it is job satisfaction!, whilst I know we are not everyone's cup of tea whilst fully covered in wetsuits etc we do seem to have a bit of a following based on the number of times the profile and some of the vids we post get looked at. It is a good feeling when you post something new and every time you log on you have more views or even comments. So for us it does make us feel better that others have enjoyed what we do. It can make a session more enjoyable as we may feel slightly kinkier being filmed and knowing others may get to watch it but it is not a huge thing as we have done loads of sessions where the camera has never been out but we have still enjoyed the fun. I just wish we had more opportunities to get the wife gunged in all her gear for others to enjoy!.

I love the reactions to my posts but also its super to share what we do. Getting people here to look at my pictures and videos is a bit like being hugged. (and if you get off on them, well hurrah!) I've run away a few times, afraid of 'real world' people finding out but l get less worried now. Plus I like some harder things like paint and if I can't find much then others must be looking so maybe I can help. (OK, I'm a rotten exhibitionist...) Plus putting stuff up starts super conversations in the chat room and messaging. Being real to people here does help build relationships and silly short term role plays.

For me it's definitely about the exhibitionism! I love the idea that others on here are turned on by seeing me covered in mud or other muck, either naked or in my underwear or spandex. I think there is also perhaps a bit of a humiliation aspect that I enjoy, too, since I sometimes tend to wear brightly colored underwear or spandex (or even women's underwear when I'm feeling especially kinky) that can be pretty revealing!

The primary motivation for me has been paying it forward. I've spent many enjoyable hours over the years on UMD looking at pictures and videos, reading adventures, and while I'm not nearly as sexy as many of the community members that I've enjoyed, if a few people like what I've posted, then I've put a few pennies into the "take a penny, leave a penny" cup.

Lately I've also been playing in the games boards, and there I feel it's important to show your work.

Although almost all of my messy sessions are self-WAM, I would MUCH rather have somebody else involved. So the camera plays the role of "somebody else" for me.

I greatly enjoy playing messy-dare games, but only if I feel truly compelled to perform the dare should I lose - otherwise it's just a fantasy role-playing game and I'm not really into that. So I commit to myself, and to everyone here, to video and post pics of all of my lost dares as proof that I really performed the dare. Otherwise the act of playing the game would not be sufficiently exciting to me, because the chance of losing would not really mean anything.

And like others have said here, I DO enjoy and appreciate any comments I may receive from the posted pics. This is a HUGE sexual fetish for me, and interacting with the WAM community certainly enhances the experience.

And as we all know, preparing and executing a WAM session can take a lot of time and effort so it just seems imperative to capture it visually. There have been a few times for me when the camera screwed up somehow, and I found that to be extremely disappointing - mostly because I then had nothing to share with you all.

I couldn't agree more tiedandmessy. I could have written that I think. I definitely agree with the camera failing and being disappointed. I have had happen a few times now and I try to use two cameras just in case. One session both cameras stopped while destroying a gorgeous outfit.

I originally shared a couple of pics on a lark. When I received some positive feedback, it had a bit of a snowball effect. I'm no model and my contributions cater to a small niche within the community but a good response can be very motivating.

I just want attention from Regis, tbh.

A very good question, just to blur the lines on your original question, does selling scenes make a Producer 'professional'? I ask out of interest as having discovered UMD many years ago, showing photos to my partner helped to get her involved. She enjoyed getting messy, which I have filmed and photographed. But does charging for content make us professional? Income from sales is very low, but enough to buy supplies for further sessions - 'reinvesting in our hobby' if you like.

Last year and a drunken chat in a pub with a mutual friend has led to another submissive joining our fun, but I'd class us as amateurs having a lot of fun. I'd LOVE to hire models, but don't have the cash, or facilities to produce films frequently.

GungeMasterUK you make a really good point. I'm aware that very few producers actually make money (or even cover all their costs) from selling material, so the amateur/producer split is a bit of a false distinction. I'm also aware that many people who now have pics or clips for sale originally started by posting a few bits on the forum for free.

So I'd really be interested to hear from anyone - whether they consider themselves an 'amateur', a 'producer' or something else - about their motivations for sharing their WAM adventures.

I've looked at pictures here for a long time, and I do feel like I should add something for others to look at. I also don't see a lot of pictures of the specific things that I like (i.e. long-haired guys getting gunged), so I figured that I'd better make some myself. It's a good way to find people that like the things that you like.

An unexpected bonus is that preparing to take pictures adds to the anticipation and excitement. Looking at the pictures afterwards and picking which ones are good enough to post is cool too.

Great question. Traditionally I actually took photos or videos (prior to UMD being around believe it or not) as a memento of the occasion and perhaps to relive it or see what worked best. Then when I was able to post things it was a way of seeming 'legit' within the community and supporting it. I still strongly believe in free content but absolutely understand those that try and fund future sessions or even those running a business. I do really respect those that post content for the love of it and to inspire others. Of course, one thing I missed, posting stuff is really helpful with meeting others in the community, for those that enjoy that too. It's almost like a portfolio of your WAM interests and an invitation.

I've enjoyed reading this discussion and I also believe it links nicely to the tosh.0 thread in the male forum i.e. WAM showing up in a media spotlight and our pages being exposed - as a side note, it might make for a good UMD wiki page showing places where WAM appears on a show or in mainstream to check if someone's been referenced either to grimace or rejoice in the attention.

We post primarily to share the messes, textures, and thicknesses we've been able to accomplish with others who appreciate it. It's certainly fun to look at our mess on our own after clean-up, but even more fun to see others comments, feedback, and likes of our material. The recognition makes us want to post more, but the privacy concerns and fear of material spreading around elsewhere makes us hesitate to open a store or post more widely. Unfortunately, I also often find myself chasing likes and comments, enjoying the thrill of the red number creeping up upon a refresh, which is no different to instagram or facebook addictions that can be consuming.

First reason, honestly, is that I look for validation. I hope other people like what I post.

But on a more subconscious level, I remember the long-long ago of 1999-2000ish where I wasn't immediately aware of an outlet to find stuff like this.

Honestly, when I wasn't even aware you COULD find stuff like this. I remember using a search engine that WASN'T Google, just as a "What the hell, maybe I'll find something." And who knows, maybe now, somebody will type "guy pie in face" and one of my pics'll come up.

It's a long shot, but it's nice to know that a random pic of me with frosting and fluff and crust smeared all up in my mug might be somebody's way of finding out, "Okay, I'm NOT crazy ... there's a place for weirdos like me that are turned on by this."

I have wanted to post on here for a long time... I can now thank my current partner and her exhibitionist ways for helping me and pushing me to do something I've always wanted. She motivated me to give back to the community and I truly hope in doing so it helps some of the lurkers here accept their fetish and be willing to be open about it. No one is saying you have to share pictures or anything but it's about neigh and comfortable with who you are. This community has opened its arms to Ztd and I, and I am beyond thankful we weren't met with any toxicity that has formerly existed on this site. That being said I'm beyond humble by how great this community is and will never regret posting personal pics/gifs because it's who I am, and sharing it with others is rather gratifying!
