Okay, so I was chatting with a buddy about some old Sally James scenes and the conversation got steered off topic (wam) into a conversation about her giving an interview in a rabbit costume (not playboy bunny, but like a grey rabbit suit)? Without violating any UMD policies, does anyone recall that? Am I just imagining things? I could swear she interviewed a certain someone all grown up into an adult and wore it as a joke during the interview though I don't recall what show it was on even?
You are not imagining things. It did happen in 1980. This all stemmed from a 1978 British animated fillm about a rabbit, called "Watership Down". In the fllm there is a song called "Bright Eyes" which was a big hit for Art Garfunkel. I can link you to that because this forum has no restrictions on rabbits and Art Garfunkel...
What happened was, Matthew Butler in the UK sang the same song and gained 15 minutes of fame in 1980 by appearing several times singing in a rabbit costume. That person is 50 years old today and still appears as a 50 year old man singing the same song at county fairs all over the UK. He made his 15 mins of fame last for 40 years. Anyway, he was interviewed several times by Sally James on different episodes, and in one show she also wore the rabbit costume as well. [Edited to remove signpost to video containing a minor]
