I keep seeing forum posts from people asking for a way to generate AI images. While there are free services that do this, they steal your information and track you and limit the number of images you can generate.
They do this because of the plain fact that generating AI images takes specialized hardware and the raw cost of electricity to run. It's not free. So, the cost of giving it to you for free is you giving them your information.
On the other hand, the paid services will charge you more than the base cost to create images. They do this because they want to make a profit. (Often they will also sell your information and track you in addition to charging you.)
You can skip both of these and set up your own simple, private, remote server. It won't be free, but it will be very very cheap; like fractions of a cent cheap per image.
I've written DIY instructions so that you can do this. I create images the same way. This is an honest attempt to help the community and it took me several hours to do this write-up for you.
