For a while (2014-2015) it was the best thing going for mainstream pies. And even though it fell off a lot at the end, I'm still bummed it's gone now. Domingo Legal apparently continues... but with the Passa ou Repassa portion cancelled. Due to pressure from the guy who's been hosting the PoR for 20 years. (Dude, if you're sick of your job... Just quit! And let someone else do it. Don't cancel the entire thing...)
Anyway, a few pics from the final clip (2015-16) of my DL compilations. Too bad Melon Woman didn't come back one last time. She could really take a pie (or five.) http://slapstickstuff.com/Mainstream.htm
Daaaaammmnnnnnn, has the world of weekly televised WAM ever been forecasted for such a drought before? This sucks.
I'm not gonna say "I wish it were the early 2000s again" because that era sucked out loud in a lot of ways. But I'll be damned if there wasn't twice as much messy programming.
The increased numbers and exposure of the WAM community are almost inversely proportional to the amount of mainstream WAM being produced now. I'm not saying we're the cause... although it only takes a handful of AntDXs sending emails/tweets/messages to a celebrity or network to ensure they will NEVER do anything remotely messy again.
But I'm sure the fact that most industry people know this is a fetish has something to do with it. Although in that case, you'd think a few tiny cable shows would lean into that to boost numbers. Hmm.
And just to put it into perspective: The 70s had a ton of mainstream pies, especially considering there were only 4 channels producing content. The 80s were another golden age, mostly thanks to the rise of cable and syndicated shows (and of course Nickelodeon). The 90s saw mainstream scenes mostly disappear from the big networks, but thrive on cable and syndicated shows. (This was also when the WAM community became an actual "online" community.) The 2000s were a steep drop-off across the board, even as WAM and the UMD got bigger online. The 2010s are completely saturated with produced WAM and free WAM on YouTube and elsewhere... But outside of Japan and Latin America, there are basically NO mainstream scenes coming out with any regularity. Amazing when you consider there's several hundred channels just in the U.S. producing original content... and not a single one does anything messy on a regular basis.

I think you're pretty much dead on. WaM isn't really an "accepted" form of sexuality like BDSM or other things that sneak onto TV. WaM fans (or should I say retards who have zero clue about self control yet have access to youtube and contact forms for networks) have ruined whatever chances we had of the US embracing WaM or messy. Even Nickelodeon, the network famed for mess is now limited to a once a year gathering that leaves us blue balled 95% of the time. Heck, when's the last time they had a woman host (and Rosie doesn't count b/c the jury is still out on whether she's a woman or just an ugly dude).

(Rich is clearly angling for that job.)
Just send them a resume, Rich!
It actually seems a kinda crappy job, although I suspect the pay is nice. (Celoso's had a 20-year run, Greg Kinnear basically did the American version in 1991 and that worked out well for him...)
Now, hosting CM and being able to rig the game entirely for one side? THAT would be a sweet gig. After three weeks of me hosting, there'd be no females willing to do it... They'd end every single show covered in pie.
Barb: [answering question in Portuguese] Me: WRONG! Barb: [protesting in Portuguese] Me: Two more pies for complaining! Barb: [more complaining] Me: That's it. Unload the entire table on her.
