Some may recall on the AI group, that I had a fictional woman named Francesca bathing in a huge bathtub filled with blue and white liquid plastic. I was trying to imagine how she might feel with the thick, gooey substance she was immersed in.
Here is one photo from that series, and some photos of me re-creating the substance today.
To make this, start with Yuck, a product available in the USA by mail. I added white paint and mixed up a thick batch of yuck mixture. Next, I took 2 litres of warm water and added CMC powder, using a food processor. This was a thick mixture of slime and I also added white paint, then mixed the CMC and Yuck mixtures together.
Next I repeated the process adding blue paint this time, and mixed them together before adding both the white and blue mixture to a large container.
Lastly, I used a whisk to blend the white and blue thick, gooey slimes into one partially-mixed result. I used a spoon to illustrate the texture of this - very thick, gooey, slimy, slippery and stringy, just the way I had envisioned Francesca's liquid plastic. It all rinses away with enough water, but is wildly fun to play in and not very expensive to make.
The photo of Francesca in the tub is synthetic, but the rest are real photos as I prepared the substance. There is plenty of white goo in there too, but the spoon only reached the blue stuff near the top.
