Very sad to see this, she always looked to be enjoying life. And bonus, she provided us Wammers with some great pie content over the years. One of the best mainstream pie fights ever to air on public TV, Threes Company of course. RIP

I thought her self-pie in the THREE'S COMPANY piefight was the best of any. She covered her whole face completely, grinning through the pie, no features visible, then the camera cut away just before she wiped her eyes off.

For any kid growing up in the 80s, Suzanne Somers was formative.... Not JUST the pie scene, but she was just one of those hot-but-accessible women that seemed to pop up frequently on TV back then. She appeared in some *really* goofy stuff post-Three's Company.... and I'd always be rooting for her to get messy again.... But never really happened. (Beyond the video posted above.)

I still remember one of the more infamous "lost scenes" from the early Internet days was supposedly a variety special where Suzanne Somers got well-pied again, and Marie Osmond also got tossed into a giant pie but face-first....Until one day, WAMTEC tracked down the special in question!

...And confirmed it was all a giant hoax (or someone's very confused memories). That was a sad day.

I thought there was some mess in Step by Step (or it was wet look)...maybe it was minor or am confusing her with another actress.

You're not wrong. I believe she and frank were digging in a dumpster and get covered in chinese food trash or some kind of slop.

She got a chocolate brownie (or piece of cake) in the face when she was following Jack (I think) out the door from the kitchen into living room and the door swung closed behind her. The door opened to see it on her face mainly from her nose to her chin if I recall correctly.

In season 4, episode 18 of "Step By Step", Suzanne hits actress Judy Kain in the face with a pie (it's just a big piece and not a whole pie but it's a really good hit for what it is). The setup lines are great too:
"Careful, Ms. Preston, she's got a pie in her hands."
"You think I would lower myself to shove this pie in your face?"
"Frankly yes."
"Good call!"

I saw that in the 90s and have loved it ever since. I mean, it's Suzanne and a pieing again (as well as a snooty character getting pied). The episode isn't on YouTube but the series is streaming somewhere.

Also, I'm not sure about on "Step By Step", but regarding a dumpster I remember "Hanging With Mr. Cooper" when Holly Robinson Peete got dumped overhead with a bucket of Chinese food while she and Mark Curry were searching in a dumpster (not sure what episode).

I agree that the Three's Company bake-off pie fight was one of the best mainstream WAM scenes I remember from my childhood. Especially Chrissy's self pie! There is another episode where she accidentally squirts a lot of cake frosting all over her face. RIP Suzanne.
