Hi first post. Long leaker. So I hope this is ok. Wife has agreed to get messy(awesome) but we have a rather small house. I see a fair few people doing this outside. What do your neighbors say? Am I over worrying things? I'd love to construct a tank but feel I'd be judged or at least have people asking questions. She loves the idea of a tank (and so do) but I'm on the fence....
What are people options?
P.s has anyone used messy supplies slosh mix? I was wondering if they are stiff enough to hold gunge on top to make them extra googie.
I'd like to add to this, and ask how people go out clean up. Do you just hose the model down before they go back in the building for a shower? Also, how do you dispose of the mess?
Depends a lot on if it's just a gunging or if you're getting naked and horny together.
The former can be passed off as a photoshoot/artistic expression, or lot bet etc.. The latter needs a fair bit more privacy for obvious reasons- hotel rooms are fantastic for this if you don't want your own place messy.
If your neighbours work regular shifts, book a day off and mess your garden in office hours. Just after sunset is also good since the darkness will give you a bit more cover.
RE: cleanup A lot of the messes used are biodegradable so the odd bits of splatter won't be an issue. If it's your garden just hose it down after. More public locations you might want to put down a sheet first, so you can take it home/stuff it in a bin. Biodegradable does not mean vanish overnight and I'd rather not find 3-day old mess in my local park.
DungeonMasterOne does regular outdoor muddy shoots, and has a post (somewhere) detailing outdoor/public cleanup.
Outdoors can be risky if weather gets really cold I'd have towels and a warm bath or shower ready to use right after But when it's warm everything seems to work out
Firstly sorry about the account duplicate. I had some email issues.
Secondly, I'm humbled by the replies. We are going to give it a miss outside, neighbors are nosey. Wife wasny keen on being watched and deffo wants to keep it private.
Moving in doors. Paddling pool with a chair shame this way I can't watch from the front. If anyone wants to know she has picked green and pink Gunge tank is the dream.
We filmed a lot of outdoor shoots without any problems. We had an outdoor shower that ran off a gas bottle and hose so easy to clean up. Although we were quite isolated where we were the postman did comment once on a load of pie plates and gunge left on the grass. We just said it was a kids party !!!
We did used to have boats go past as well and on some of the films the girls used to wave and laugh at the boats covered in clay or gunge.
If you're not comfortable with being overlooked it's best to stay indoors. You really won't enjoy it if you're anxious and that would be a shame - the first WAM session with someone you love is something you really want to make the best of as you'll remember it forever.
However small your home, it's always possible to carry this out in private. You just need to take some precautions to protect the floor, walls and ceilings.
People do see things because they're nosey. I shot a WAM session with a girlfriend some years ago in her conservatory at night in an urban area. There were sheets over the side windows - but the following evening she received a hand written note through the letterbox from a neighbour who, it seems had viewed the whole thing from his upstairs window via an un obscured angle - passing on his compliments as to her beauty - and offering to join in next time. Luckily she saw the funny side.
That would be easier to clean up than doing the shoot indoors because Methyl cellulose (i.e. gunge) is totally biodegradable and will turn into soapy water when hosed down, so it will disappear on your patio deck or lawn.
But get a black or dark colour canopy because if you shoot at night you will need to add some lights and if you have a white or light color canopy your private show will be seen in silhouette.
