What happened to seeing someone get pied on tv, or piefights in movies? I know times have changed, but it seems like years, I know there are many producers and people on here that make a living at it, posting their own content to view or pay to view, but nothing like the three stooges, soupy sales, Nickelodeon, The Great Race or Blazxing Saddles ever in todays media, is it not a big deal? Just curious, everything is all social media, with a few exceptions
Seeing as, more often than not, being pied is seen as a humiliating or "degrading" thing by most people nowadays, I'd be surprised if we ever see it again. Just an observation on my part. That said, the ones that do happen seem to be either on shows "aimed at minors" or the occasional WWE pie hits. On the former, we obviously can't have that here. On the latter, WWE has managed to botch so many good opportunities to have a truly decent WAM moment. Charlotte Flair vs Toni Storm could have been so much better.
Another possible aspect is that there may be seen an underlying "sexual" undertone. Seems that Hollywood would jump all over that, seeing as sex sells and the whole world is buying. Sadly, though, I believe the days of mainstream WAM are long gone.
I would agree, gone are the days of threes company, family matters, Brady bunch etc, that's what I saw and watched growing up, and how I got into 45 years ago, The Great Race has literally affected my life from the piefight, yes in a sexual way, so I do understand. I have to. E honest, I've never been in a true piefight where there were hundreds of people and pies, only 1 on 1, and a few 2 on 1 in my life. I unfortunately cannot get the pie bug out of my system, any help or advice is welcome, is it harmful? Not really, but wish there was a cure for it, and no, abstinence doesn't help either

I'm probably the last person to go to for advice about a "pie bug". My wife just admitted she loves doing it for me. Not a pie fight, per se, but she does enjoy sitting in the occasional pie and has made quite the effort to make a show of it every time. Granted, we only partake of that activity every couple of months for "special occasions" such as Valentine's Day or our Anniversary, my birthday, Halloween, etc. If it isn't harming your mental or physical health, I see no problems.
That's because you have a wife, so did I, but in the end, the pies and excess were too much for her, there should be a dating site where people can meet and share their stuff together, and no, this isn't it, I tried fetlife with no luck either, lots of posts, but no interest
With Hollywood, everything old becomes new again. I suspect we will a slapstick resurgence at some point. We just need one movie or tv show to trigger it and everyone will want to copy it.

Yeah, there's been a recent surge of western movies which people thought wouldn't happen so a slapstick surge can happen.
Although if any directors want to put a quicksand scene in a western I won't be complaining
And also animation, a lot of slapstick films were suitable for all ages.
But now live action family films do seem to be going away, at least for now. And most all ages film are animated. Netflix has released a few live action films maybe we need to wait until Netflix has a slapstick family hit
