hobby for sure. in my case, especially. i make sure to break even on what i spend. beyond that, whatever sales come in go straight to the girls in the videos. i just love making the mess and editing....even though i suck at it. lol. it's just all in fun.
its a hobby for us. We have been getting messy just by ourselves for years but with the pandemic lockdowns we got bored with our routine. So we took some clean pictures and posted them here just to see what the reaction would be and it was enough to warrant starting something just to see how it goes. It is still just a hobby but we have grown our operation and it breaks even. I get to learn video editing and use my DSLR that I dont get to use elsewhere thanks to COVID. But it is still a blast and we love sharing our fun with the community. As long as we continue to have fun and it the sales cover the raw materials then we plan on continuing to produce our content and make it better each week. Yes - each week. Kate has our shooting and release schedule planned through the end of the year so she has no plans of slowing down. Enjoy

Wow, what a woman, gets messy, does shoots, has it all scheduled out!
Side hustle/artform/obsession. Pays for itself, the equipment, and, over time, a modest profit.
I started out making films with romantic partners. Then recently started over from scratch using models.
You can make a reasonable side income with a popular catalogue but if you want to make a living out of it - I would suggest starting 15-20 years ago. The market is so saturated now lots of new stuff doesn't even get noticed.
Seriously, from those I know who do make a living out of it, the business model to succeed now needs a serious up-front investment in a large and growing back catalogue (of at least 500 films) and an equipped facility for accommodating fast turnaround customs and sessions with models.
The demand for private model and individual, catered messy sessions in the UK is significant - but Covid restrictions (or the threat of them) have made any new venture into this area immensely risky.
