When I was growing up, and trying to find my values, "protest," music of the sixties was a beacon. Pete Seeger, Phil Ochs, CSNY, Dylan, and many others. Post Vietnam, as society seemed to progress, was the, "protest," genre dated? But progress seemed to halt and now we are on the edge of an abyss of hatred and division. The time to protest has returned. Thanks, Peter https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wWKSoxG1K7w&list=RDwWKSoxG1K7w&start_radio=1
I think we need to evolve as a society our methods of protest. The things they are doing in some cases to protest do not make sense to me. The whole don't shop on a certain day is ridiculous. All you are doing is shifting the date you spend money. The places you are protesting still get the money. You think they care what day the money comes in? Yes we call our political officials offices for all the good that does in some areas. Yes people get out and march and make signs and stuff. We are still performing 60 year old protest methods and they are deploying 60 year old counter measures. Why aren't people wearing gas masks to protect themselves? Why are cartels and gangs the biggest group of people taking it to the entities being protested against? The way things are in America, it is obvious that the entities being protested against do not care about murder, why do the protesters? Are you willing to lose your life for the cause? Why do you think these entities are fearless with their attacks? Yes I know that there are people pulling the strings that want things to escalate as part of their plan. They want the violence because that will give them justification to do what they really want. I just hope enough countries get pissed off that they kick us out of NATO so that they can then come attack us. An entity needs to show the current US administration that kidnapping people either in your country or others is not acceptable. We as a society have gotten too big in our arrogance and it is time for Rome to fall.
