Well, I suppose it's one way to stop people spending a fortune on a dress and limo and God knows what else.
I think the slime one you're talking about might be from Cholate com Pimenta, they definitely did it, with a lovely lady. Of course, the original was Carrie, but neither Sissy Spacek nor the ensuing violence makes it a good scene for me. Glee did it to the lovely Jenna Ushkowitz a few seasons back, and that was nice.
