Duncan is right on this one. WAM piracy in some ways is worse than music piracy was. When you find a song you like, most people will play it many times, probably buy different versions and releases, vinyl, CD, download. Even if their original copy was taped-off-the-radio 30 years ago, chances are if they really like it they'll buy at least one version of it eventually. But how many WAM videos ever get watched more than a couple of times? I've a vast collection, but probably fewer than 20 that I regularly go back to. So if someone watches on on a pirate site the chances of them actually buying it, even if they like it, are close to zero, because there will always be something newer or that they've not seen before to buy first. It's the nature of fetish videos that someone watches till they cum, and then switch it off. And that the first hit is almost always the best one.

Piracy is bad regardless weather it's porn of music or art you say there are many videos that people won't rewatch once they have cum so why would many spend £5-10 buying a scene just to cum once maybe twice ? Still think with the new ph rules models won't get as much exposure as they would of done before doesn't more exposure equal more sales in long run especially if there is a model someone likes goes on the models website and see other scenes which ain't on ph and buys them ?

Because they appreciate the value of what they're getting, a very, very niche specialist product at what is in reality an absolute bargain price. $15 is the price of a couple of meals at McDonald's, or a 3D movie for one at the cinema, or the price of a few drinks in a bar. And bear in mind of that $15 the actual producer only gets $10.50, so given any scene costs between $150 and $250 to shoot, anything that sells less than 15-20 copies makes a loss. Not many scenes sell more than 10 copies.

No, the idea that exposure equals sales is a myth. What really happens is someone who's seen some pirate scenes demands to know when the rest of that model's work will be site-ripped and uploaded. Or just moves on to the next model who's work has been stolen.
With music there are some options - people who won't buy records might come to live gigs or go to festivals, both of which bands can make money from. That doesn't really work for erotica. The new rules will work better for models, those who want to use PH can set up verified profiles and upload their content, and if anyone tries to copy it PH will identify and remove. TBH PH should have done this years ago. It's a good thing they finally have.
I'm not saying this is gonna be the end to piracy on PH but it's really gonna make it tough. Before these rule changes, making a PH account took seconds, so it was always like playing whack a mole when you were a producer.
No longer. PH is actually good about DMCA requests. My requests always got acted on same day. But for that pirate, now they'd have to go through a whole new verification process and it's just not gonna be worth it to them.
This is a boon for indie girls and I'm not sure you entrenched you all are in the porn community, but studio produced porn is gonna die off. The old/current method was porn models got hired for a shoot, got paid "X" dollars, then had to wait 'til the next shoot to make more money.
Onlyfans has changed that game. Now the goal for these girls is to build their own fanbase, make 100% of the money and studios, eventually, will be told to fuck off...or the girls will be demanding a lot more money.
Right now I know 5 indie models who are each making six figures off OF. They have all stopped working for production companies.
Right now, at this very moment, we are watching porn change forever. These are even companies springing up that get paid to handle DMCA requests as the girls are seeing their OF content being leaked.
Ya know, I never really thought about that. Of all the things that would really bring about the end to Corn Chub, and it's Twitter. I feel like that's not a victory now...

You got it. Pirates are pirates because they can be. There's a very finite limit to what exposure can do for you in a niche fetish interest. Doesn't matter if thousands see what you do when your entire market is limited to hundreds on the best day.

PH is fallen but with it being a game of whack-a-mole, a different site will rise and the whole cycle will repeat itself.
There will always be exceptions to any general trend, but speak to any of the producers who have had a lot of content pirated, and they'll all say the same thing, sales slumped until they got the pirate versions taken down.
I doubt the problem will ever entirely go away but PH really was the 200lb gorilla in the room as far as piracy was converned.
Sad day for those us who only ever uploaded solo stuff that was free for everyone. My xtube content has been nuked and I can't even access the videos to download them to put somewhere else. Some are so old I might only have them on the original camcorder tapes.
Not every WAM video on xtube was pirated from here. Its a shame so much amatuer content has been lost, most likely forever.
Will have to see what videos I still have and find an alternative site for them, but I can't see many porn sites outrunning the creditcard companies or advertisers forcing them to do what pornhub has done.
I would of considered submitting to somekind of ID check to keep my stuff online, but guess there were just to many accounts to make that a viable option

It's interesting that getting pirated copies taken down causes a noticeable increase in sales. On that basis, there should be pretty big increase in sales this month compared to last month or December last year!!

Realistically it's never going to go away and unfortunately producers are always going to be playing catch up however the fall of PH could be jumped on as an opportunity because there'll be a lot of people looking for alternatives.
