[post redacted by admin, as the scene mentioned subsequently turned out to contain a minor. Leaving general thread up as some of the subsequent discussion may still be of interest]
I was excited for this, but it was marred a bit to know she's disguised as Elvis when it happens. On another note, judging by the dialogue, it looks like this reboot is intended for adults.
Having watched 0 eps of the show, I gather it's intended to appeal to people who grew up watching the original, who would now be adults. Plus there's swearing, so would think it would be safe to discuss
Think of it the other way around, if you will: in terms of traffic visiting a link. If you ran the website containing the mainstream entertainment UMD users are visiting. How appropriate or otherwise would you feel it to be if traffic is visibly arriving via a link on a porn site.
There seems to be a lot of unnecessary confusion about the rules, but in reality it's really simple:
UMD should not promote or link to anything featuring, or specifically made for or aimed at, *children*.
*Family* shows are not banned as long as they don't feature kids. E.g. the Noel's House Party gungings - that was a family show, broadcast at 7pm-ish to a family, not kid, audience, and the gunge segments were adult-only, so clips of those are OK. However clips of the same celebrities getting gunged on a Saturday morning show - made for and aimed at a kid audience - would not be OK.
Movie examples: Discussion of Cruella getting dumped in a vat of stuff in 101 Dalmations is OK - Disney live-action films are made for family audiences (in fact the more recent Cruella was a 12, same as the most recent James Bond films, and no-one would claim those were for kids). However the various events in Home Alone are not OK as the main star of those films is a child.
Basically before linking to or describing something, consider a few questions: 1. Does this feature kids at all? If so, don't post it. 2. Is this from a show that was made *specifically* for kids (not just a family audience). Again, if the answer is yes, don't post it.
Also, remember there's always the option to appeal a decision. The mods aren't infalliable and sometimes make mistakes. Even a deleted post will still have its "Report" link. If you think something's been deleted that shouldn't have been, click Report, select "Needs Attention", and write in the box "I don't think this should have been deleted because" amd then write why you think the decision was wrong. All reports go to MM so if one of the rest of us has it wrong, he can sort it. Or just message him direct (MessMaster profile), or use the "Contact Us" link off the "Home" menu.
