On the NBC cop show "The Mysteries of Laura" - which stars a still-pretty-fine Debra Messing - there's a curious line in my cable box's description:

A mud race creates some friendly competition in the precinct

It's on at 8 and is therefore already halfway over. I'm watching it to see if anything happens, so west coast readers can capture it if necessary.

Not much, another girl (who I guess is part of the cast) participate in the mud race, but she got just a little dirty, not really messy. And Debra is not even part of the scene.

Sounds about right for Network TV.

Yeah, I wasn't particularly surprised. Of course, at least in regards to the weakness of the coverage, it was very much like a real mud race/football/volleyball/etc., especially the ones near me, which chronically substitute dirty water for actual mud...
