You could seal them together and then, cut some holes in the sides and seal them with connectors so that you can use them for PVC pipe or not. Then use the PVC pipe to fill up the new container. You could cut a hold in the side of both of them where you connect it and put a pane of glass in sealed. Then you could either send gunge in from above, or fill it up from below.
Edit: I wonder if you could use the old hair dryer you got a while back at the top as a way to dispense the gunge as well.

You have put a lot more thought into this than I have . I picked these up on a whim (I can't say no to free). My initial thought was to stand one up tall ways and cut what would be the top and front in that orientation. Then make a scaffolding out of PVC pipe with something to skirt somebody sitting in a chair in the hollowed out tote container. Keep a bit of a lip at the bottom to collect the gunge and reuse it. First step will be buying some more gunge from Splatter Emporium and seeing how well it can be pumped. Once the pumping is figured out, could probably rig it to that hair dryer as well.
Haven't gotten around to messing with the first totes, but I stumbled on 2 more for free and couldn't resist The weather has turned to fall here, hoping to get a warm enough day to test running gunge through our water pump as a first step.
