Hi there all! Help!

I can't find any private pools in the Midlands area for hire, for either shoots or so I can just turn up myself and faff around in water for a few hours taking pictures. The last pool I used was great, but way up North, and that was just too far to travel.

Anyone know of pools in roughly the Midlands or central England area? As you can see, baths are just not big enough, even though I'm tiny!

They are few and far between. We used one in Kent a few years ago but its not ideal for photography as it was too dark.

Yep, I told them what the shoot was for and they were cool with it, which surprised me actually! I used it once on my own and once for the shoot. I just ensured that the place was spotless when finished, and that the clothes and shoes worn were freshly cleaned before they entered the pool. I'd use the pool again definitely, but the distance is too expensive to travel to with models, or for just a day out for myself. There's pools all over East Anglia it seems, but that's also a difficult place to get to as I don't have a car.

Lighting can be difficult yes. I had that same problem with my shoot. Plus the dissolved bubbles from fabrics reduce visibilty underwater hugely I found, and that reduced the clarity of the images produced.

The producers abroad have outdoor pools to utilise so their images can be crisp and bright, whereas over here all the pools (almost) have to be indoors with usually low ceilings, and usually not much in the way of existing underwater lights.

We've always had the Dunk Tank, the swimming pool was something we wanted to try as well. The shoot was actually good, just that the lighting was bad and film quality wasn't good. Would love to try again but its finding a pool. Where is the one in Gravesend ? Do they still rent it out ?

Have you researched swinger venues or naturist spas? A number have outdoor pools, you just have to hope they close for a day or part day so that you could reserve it.

There is a private pool near me. Its in deepest North Norfolk though. You can book and pay online. No need to speak to anyone unless they have a problem with the pool.
As long as you leave it spotless and then there won't be any problem. It's in a conservatory too so has good natural lighting.

That may be an option. Do you know of any that may allow something like that ?
