My pie plans on my recent business trip fell through.again. I figured I might as well have some fun on my own and decide to try out some Safeway Bakery Chocolate Cream pies. Here is my review.
At $13 a pie these were not the cheapest pies, but also not the most expensive. The pies them self were not that big and had a thick layer layer of chocolate cream buried by a layer of heavy whip stabilized whip cream. I let the pies sit out for a couple of hours to warm up before I used them. The pies were soft and creamy and smushed easily against my face. The feel was amazing. The crust was soft but stayed mostly intact and hung on my face nicely. The whip cream seamed to stick more to the chocolate and crust than it did my face so the coverage was lacking. The second pie I made sure to really rub in and the coverage was a little better.
Overall this pies were probably a 3 out 5 and could have benefited from more whip cream on top. Feel free to check out the results in my phot album.
