Thanks for this excellent post. The main obstacles I find fully enjoying the stooges' pie scenes is the editing. It isn't quite as fast as MTV would later edit, but they certainly don't linger over the female extras.

My favorite by far is the first in color...I don't think I've seen that episode, followed by the last woman, who I mistook at first for the lovely birthday girl in "Three Sappy People."

I could never forget Moe submerging into liquid latex or molten rubber of some kind. Very odd - the things that occurred on that run. There was also the mud scene at the parlor, where the boys, posing as professionals, trolled garden mud into the faces of lady customers.

I was rather let down by the fact that the recent film was mess free.

This is where it all started for me, circa 1966 or so, when the kid's show Sally Starr would play Stooges shorts in the Philadelphia area.
