The trouble with latex house paint is that once it dries, it's basically permanent. I would go for tempura water-paint that is safe for kids to paint with. If you want a more gunge-like texture, use Arrowroot powder (check my profile for the recipe) and it is a food-based substance, much safer than the chemicals found in other slimes or paints.
