If this has already been covered, then I apologize. But has anyone tried ordering bulk messy supplies on Amazon or some other online store? It seems like an easier and less awkward way to buy large amounts of messy supplies more cheaply. Here is one in particular, as an example:
I buy catering supplies from Amazon. Best buy was 2 x 4.5kg of ketchup for £12. Just bought 3.5kg bag choc sponge mix. 4kg Biscuit crumbs for pie bases, Bought cases of spaghetti hoops before ! It's great. Comes well packaged right to my door !
I'd say if you want less awkward, just go to Sam's. Heck, you don't even have to go inside to order, just do it online and they'll wheel the cart out. I did the same at the grocery store when I bought 50 tubs of cool whip. All they do is deliver the cart to your car. Easy peasy. Alternatively, look up food service supply stores that sell to the public. The absolute best, if you're lucky enough to live near one, is a GFS, Gordon's Food Service, store. They are absolutely fantastic. Bulk everything. And they don't know what you're doing with the stuff. The last thing on their mind is what people are doing buying 20 pies or 15 pounds of cake mix. It doesn't matter to them, because bulk is their business.
