Uh...I wouldn't say it was a "safe" space or they put them "in danger" Besides there's a LOT of other places that take less of a cut than OF such as ManyVids.
This is honestly not surprising to me at all. Is it a dick move? Yes, of course. But it's smart business acumen. Build your business off the backs of group A, abandon them for group B as soon as it's profitable.
This of course translates into most aspects of life too, for instance, politics.
Personally this doesn't upset me. But I hope it comes back to bite them in the ass and they lose everything. Sadly, I don't think it will though. If it does, I'm sure the Stokleys will have sold out for a couple billion before it does.

That's exactly what YouTube and eBay did. Built their site on small time individuals which caused the sites to be popular enough to catch the eye of big timers. Then when they came in, the sites made the policies favor larger creators and the small people were all pushed out.
It quotes an (emailed) statement from OnlyFans: "These changes are to comply with the requests of our banking partners and payout providers."
Basically, it looks like they've been given an ultimatum: ditch the porn or you won't be able to receive any money. (I know there have been some similar issues for WAM sites.)
Meanwhile over at Patreon today they just announced a new policy specifically aimed at Content Creators who have criminal records, in their quest to be more "inclusiive" to criminals. I was just sent this email from Patreon today and their new policy towards criminals is this...quote
"We refined our proposed policy around creators with criminal records to be more inclusive of those sharing experiences with addiction, violence, and the criminal justice system.......... a lot of us have criminal pasts." It is important to us that they, like all Patreon creators, feel safe and welcome as part of our creator community."
You cannot make this stuff up.
Sorry....B/S...a lot of us do NOT have criminal pasts. I have never had a criminal past and they do not make me feel welcome at all and are constantly harassing me for my content, and my external websites.
But it is good to know that it you commit crimes, Patreon will welcome you.
And they wonder why their company has no credibility at all with me !!
I know many adult models who's best source of income is their Onlyfans account, so they will lose their main source of income (several I know make 25-40K per month on Onlyfans) so they will be gutted.
Well Neil Orkin must be kicking himself in the head right now, because he created Clips4sale in 2002 and owned the company for 19 years while making himself 100 million dollars, but when Onlyfans was created 4 years ago he saw a massive exodus of sex workers from his platform who left Clips4sale and moved to Onlyfans. His business saw a huge decline mostly because he was gouging his content creators by taking 40% of their store incomes and sex workers discovered that by moving to Onlyfans who only took 10% then they could keep 90% of their incomes. Clips4sale was a rapidly declining business model. A clear example of that being my Clips4sale global store ranking for earnings, where I currently only have sales of less than $300 per month, yet on their Global Ranking system I am ranked for store earnings rank #1352 -- and clips4sale have 45,000 content creators in their system , so my ranking means that there are 43,648 Clips4sale store owners whose earning are even more pathetic than mine are.
Anyway, So Neil's company was in the dumpster so after 19 years he decided to sell his company last month at a fire sale price. So Clips4sale just made an announcement 2 weeks ago that a new company "Centro Ventures" has acquired Clips4sale, but Neil still keeps his seat on the board. Now Neil must be regretting selling Clips4sale in a fire sale, because with this new announcement from Onlyfans all those tens of thousands of sex workers who left clips4sale for a bigger share of their income on Onlyfans, will have to come back to Clips4sale (or Manyvids) again where they lose 30% more of their income. Business will start booming again at Clips4sale and Neil will be kicking himself in the head that he sold his company prematurely at a fire sale price.
I am not surprised. We knew this was going to happen back when MM made the announcement. The sites have only themselves to blame. All they had to do was keep accurate records in place and they would have been just fine. But they chose not to do it. There will be another site that pops up that will require a proof of identity and provide the same content as only fans just at a higher mark up because they have to deal with the shit from the money providers. Or, they could knock out the middle man all together and go to crypto currancy. That would be an interesting step forward.

Come Oct OF will turn into exactly what Patreon is today. Patreon pulled the porn trigger in 2018 - banning porn and anything explicit, again, due to their banking partners.
They seem to have hammered out an arrangement that's working. Nudity is allowed, but I'll call it "casual nudity." Patreon's rule: "cannot focus on or place any emphasis on genitalia." OF will also adopt this language since it's likely from their banking partners.
So, a woman walking around naked? That's fine. A women sitting down, legs open? That's a no-go. No sex acts, no toys, nothing explicit. That's OF come Oct.

But that's life !!
Very good post. When Visa and Mastercard come for you, it's not like a shitty payment processer you can replace. You bow and kiss the ring, or you go away.
The industry brought this on themselves by failing to mandate ID and consent forms when all of this was launched. Two very high-profile and very well politically connected non-profits who scour the internet for underage porn and trafficking flat out busted these platforms.
I mean, if I'm opening an adult clip store, the very first thing I'm going to require if ID from every model. That C4S and other platforms didn't do that is gross negligence.
OF is going to destroy the adult model industry with this move. I work with a lot of models and even the ones who don't make a lot - $1,000 to $3,000 a month, are crying over this - literally. It pays their rent, food, utilities, etc...One model I work with makes just over $10,000 a month and all of her content is very explicit. She has no clue what she's gonna do.
I can't imagine that ones who make a living from OF. Come Oct 1st, that living is gone. Yes, they can switch to another platform but it doesn't work like that. They could lose half of their subscribers, or more.
Also, other platforms will likely become predatory, knowing these models will have to choose another platform, but that's not where it gets bad. Where it gets bad is any other platform that gains major traction will also likely get hit by Visa and Mastercard.
One other thing that's coming for anyone with an OF is starting Oct 1st, the suspension nightmare. There's always a fine line between what's allowed and what's not allowed. With Patreon, there's a trust and safety team. If what you post (and it's happened to me three times) seems to be on that line, or a bit over, they reach out to you BUT you can still post content and people can still join. They only suspend accounts that blatantly violate their policies.
But then you can email back and forth with human being and state your case. I won 2 arguments and lost 1. No biggie, I had a delete a few clips.
Not with OF. There's next to no human support. They use bots. Human support can take weeks, if it comes at all.
But with 1.5 million accounts, OF will be using bots to determine whether an account is in compliance or not. That means a shit-ton of accounts will be suspended that are right on that line or maybe just within the line. Many will be suspended that are well within their new guidelines. Support? Well, it'll be non-existent.

"Internal documents, leaked to BBC News, reveal that OnlyFans allows moderators to give multiple warnings to accounts that post illegal content on its online platform before deciding to close them."
From a WAM POV, presumably this means more content will come back to dedicated adult WAM sites like the UMD and Vidown? Though I guess a lot will depend on what kind of rules OF actually enforce - does fully clothed WAM, or even non-nude pie in the face, count as sexual material under their new categories or not?
Also now the market is proven, presumably there's nothing to stop a new operator building an all-adult OF replacement, but with full compliance with the new card association ID and release rules, and an absolute "no warnings - nuke from orbit" policy on anything non-consensual / explotative / illegal / underage.
Up here in Canada, we just had a provincial election in Nova Scotia. Going into the election, the Liberals had a minority government and looked set to add to their seats and form a majority.
Partway through, it was revealed that the Liberal leader had been convicted of drinking and driving. Then the Liberals kicked one of their candidates loose. Her 'sin' was having posed for boudoir photos and posting them to the internet. Double standard, no?
On a happy note the hypocritical Liberals were trounced and Nova Scotia now has a Progressive Conservative majority government.
There are many news articles in the last couple of days that describe the Onlyfan decision as turning their backs on the people who were mostly responsible for their success in the first place. One has to remember that the internet existed from the 1970s to the early 90's (well before Al Gore invented it) but it was solely the domain of scientists, educators and other IT boffins who knew how to communicate in geek machine language. It did not explode and become available to lay people until 1995 when Netscape and others invented the first web browser that non technical people could use to navigate, and the primary reason for the invention of the web browser was mankind's desire to see PORN, so people forget how it was man's desire for porn that drove the creation of the media players we have today.
Onlyfans was created in 2016 and exploded because it allowed sex workers to produce content and keep a lot more of their income than other platforms like Clips4sale and Manyvids. One of my former models, Megan Jones, became a millionaire in only 2 years with her Onlyfans channel. Onlyfans are making a huge mistake cowtowing to pressure from the banks and card processors, because porn is at least 75% of their business revenues today. Currently the Onlyfans company are seeking a 1 Billion valuation for investors (as per Forbes Magazine), but now they wish to turn their business model into just another "Vimeo". Look at the data. Last year revenues for Onlyfans were 450 million, whereas last year revenues for Vimeo were only 199 milliion, so they will be cutting their revenue sources by at least 50% or more, and they expect to get a 1 Billion dollar valuation (as per Forbes) on their company now .... I don't think so.
Yesterday Onlyfans gave a press release that said that it was never their intention for their platform to be a porn business. This does not pass the laugh test, because look at who owns Onlyfans. The UK guy who founded the site only owns 25% but the business is owned 75% by a Ukrainian Billionaire (1.8 billion as per Forbes) called Leonid Radvinsky who has a long long history of owning and operating illegal porn sites, including Myfreecams and many other illegal adult sites that were shut down by authorities.
So, the Onlyfans press statement that they never wanted to be a porn platform is ludicrous. They built their business on the basis of supporting sex workers, and their business model was very simple, to offer a much better rev sharing deal that other platforms like Clips4sale and Manyvids offered, so they undercut Clips4sale and other similar platforms, and took away their business by offering a better rev sharing split.
So now they want to go "Mary Poppins" and to desert the very people who built their business. Good luck on that, because we do not need another "Vimeo". Their revenues will decline by 50-70% and be more like Vimeo's revenues now, and they can kiss goodbye to that 1 billion dollar investor valuation they are seeking as well.
Man's desire for "legal porn" will always be there, and no amount of banking or credit card rules are going to stifle what is totally LEGAL for sex workers to do and for adult consumers to buy. Onlyfans should have remembered who it was that buttered their bread, and created more options for crypto and other payment systems to flourish, instead of caving to the banks and credit card companies that are influenced by politicians.
BTW, this goes to show that no amount of documentation and record keeping requirements are going to makes things "safer" for legal sex workers, because Onlyfans had some of the strictest regulations on photo ids, release forms etc yet despite meeting all legal requirements, they move the goal posts again and shut things down anyway.
Now that Onlyfans will be losing over 300 million of it's 400 million dollar annual revenues, this presents a great opportunity for some new IT whiz kid with a lot of resources to fill the void and snap up that 300 million a year in business. All they have to do is very simple
* create a platform that offers a better rev share than 60/40 Clips4sale/Manyvids * create a company with hundreds of servers that is outside of the USA and EU * use non U.S. non EU banks and credit card processors * add more flexibility and privacy for consumers via Crypto Currency options
If I was still in my 30's I would assemble a top notch IT team and start a new hosting platform myself, but now I am a retired old fart, so I will leave it to some other entrepreneur.
The irony is, both Messmaster and Soundguy already have already created mainstream adult media systems as a small sideline to their main wam business, but they lack the resources to be able to expand their mainstream hosting platforms, cos you need a minimum of 100 staff and 1000 servers to compete with Clips4sale or Manyvids.

I think their idea is to court high profile celebrities like, for example, Beyonce or Taylor Swift, maybe some actors too, get them to make exclusive clips and videos to sell directly to fans. Let's level here: one person like that can replace a hundred thousand small time creators and OnlyFans views small time creators as something that caps out--they are looking at YouTube, which is dominated by dedicated content producers, not random people uploading cell phone videos like it was in 2008. A-list celebs aren't going to go near anything that is known for adult content so OnlyFans wants to clean up its act. They can blame the payment processors for convenience, but they want this because they see it as a way to grow, like eBay and YouTube did once they pushed out the amateurs.
Patreon did this a while back, did it not? It's why all the adult content is off there now, no?
I too find it regrettable that we have yet another instance of common people building something up only for the company to say "Thanks! Now get out." but it just shows us all how a small company wants to become big and becoming big means getting rid of the small people. Happens over and over again.
Justine said: A-list celebs aren't going to go near anything that is known for adult content so OnlyFans wants to clean up its act.
But they did, especially Cardi B and Bella Thorne....and look what happened...
Bella Thorne committed a huge scam and a fraud on her Onlyfans channel, by using the power of all her millions of social media followers, with fraudulent false promises of "come to my Onlyfans channel to see my exclusive naked photos", and she pulled a 2 million dollar scam on her followers. She lied and scammed people into sending her 2 million dollars in less than 2 months, based on her lies and false promises to deliver exclusive nude pics, and when the deadline came for her to post to post those pics, all she did was to post some non nude sexy lingerie pics instead.
It was celebs like Bella Thorne who gave Onlyfans a bad reputation, not the small time sex workers. Mind you, you have to be brain dead to send Bella Thorne $500 on Onlyfans to see her naked, because if you want to see her naked you can watch over a dozen of her movies on Netflix where she gets naked and that will only cost you $9.
Sex workers were using Onlyfans to provide a valid and legal service to their followers and delivering what they promised. Bella Thorne and other celebs were using Onlyfans and their fame to exploit the stupidity of their gullible followers.
I feel bad for those who make a living off of OF's thats going to suck ,I only make a tiny bit from the site so its not so bad for me in the end I will port over the few scenes that i recorded just for OF to here for sale and call it a day.

As of Thursday I have apparently joined their ranks.

Extremely informative This also came out wired article an onlyfans and creators https://bit.ly/3sBsuD1
Yeah, I see that today Onlyfans has reversed course and has dropped their plans to ban porn.
As I said before, Onlyfans without porn is the same as Vimeo, and the financials are clear for all to see, i.e. last years Onlyfans revenues were 450 million and Vimeo's last year revenues were 199 million, so you do not need to be a financial genius to figure out that by banning porn they would be cutting away half of their business revenues.
Today in their press release they now adopt the same mantra that Manyvids has in their business policy, and now say they want to be "inclusive" to all content creators.
Great, Onlyfans got the memo from Manyvids......now will somebody pass that memo to Youtube, because they are still discriminating againts fetish content creators who do NOT show any nudity or anything sexual, and Youtube still deletes my videos showing the most mild and innocent model videos like a girl in jeans in the pool or bath....or 2 girls playing in the mud fully clothed.
This is not about "Trust and Safety" as Onlyfans would claim....just follow the money and it is plain to see.
