Come October, it appears that OnlyFans will cease to allow sexually explicit content to be uploaded to its site. Nudes will apparently still be allowed.
Apparently Afghanistan isn't the only place where freedom is under attack.
The single reason for this move, despite the horseshit OF is shoveling out about wanting to attract new investors, is the new Mastercard rules. That's it. That's the only reason OF is ditching porn.
As it's been discussed, the hammer drops with Mastercard come Oct and these are the issues:
Documented age and identity verification for all people depicted and those uploading the content Content review process prior to publication Complaint resolution process that addresses illegal or nonconsensual content within seven business days Appeals process allowing for any person depicted to request their content be removed
This is a daunting task and will require human review. OF, with over 1.5 million accounts, has very limited human support. It's all bots and algorithms.
The age verification isn't really an issue. That doesn't require human review. But a content review process, complaint resolution and appeals process all do. This is why OF is ditching porn.
