Hi fellow Wammers, we recently tried a new mix of olive oil with black bodypaint pigments as base for a bodypaint shoot.
As expected, it was muuuch harder to remove than the same-looking mixture of black pigments in degreasing oil, which is more water-soluable. So she needed a full bottle of dishwashing liquid over 3 long showers after each other.
I uploaded a short free video when she was applying it on her tongue, for which olive oil as base of the mix has a much better taste than the degreasing oil:
You do such amazing and effective work using paint with your intrepid models.
That's a gruelling clean up, though! There is a hack which you may or may not know of that makes this an easier task - and (ironically) it's actually using oil as a cleaning agent in the initial wash off.
Fight oil with oil! In this case vegetable oil (a good few litres as it's cheaper than olive oil). Rather than working against the oil with detergent and water you work with it and dilute it until it is sufficiently thinned that the detergent has an easier job. It's counterintuitive - but it really does work and is better for the model's skin than the repeated chemicals, scrubbing and agitation.
Thank you so much, Trouso! Yes, that may actually a good idea for the next time. I remember when we came back from the beach in the 1980ies, we had tar stains on our feet and hands which were ery sticky. And we found out the easiest way to remoe them waas with butter Have a great weekend!
