I've been a lurker on this site for awhile, so this is my first post. I have a pretty big mud fetish, but I've never actually been mudding. I'm located in the Sacramento-area, and I was wondering if anyone knows of good mud nearby. I would appreciate any information or help you can provide.
Your map looks very useful Mike, Have you ever tried Landshipping just north of Tenby. Our friends who were based in Tenby a few years ago would use Landshipping quite freqently it seems.
Had a friend who lived in Sacramento, (he's since moved down here), and we'd get together up there and head out to a bird/animal sanctuary that's about 10 (?) miles due West from downtown. Take the I-80 towards S. F. and look for the signs. The I-80 parallels the sanctuary, and we found the best mud to be right under the Interstate itself. It's not really crowded, mostly birders, and a few hikers. I've posted a few pixs that were taken there.

No, but I might stray as far as Carmarthen Bay with a lass when lockdown is over.

I think you're talking about somewhere near the causeway? When they open it up, it gets flooded for a few months and depending on the time of year it would be muddy.
I'm sure there are spots in Sac, but they don't stay muddy for long, and it's primarily during the winter (COLD!) I'm guessing the bay will have the best, but it's a bit of a drive.
