I was browsing over some content from MessyGirl, when this thought hit me. There are so many stores and studios of women getting messy, and yet there is little to none with my demographic.
Let me explain:
I'm a 22 year old male, and there is like... no studio for males getting messy or young adults getting messy. Now, I'm aware every once in a while some studios throws in a male or someone at the age of 18-25 in there, but why hasn't there been an actual production exclusively for that demographic? You'd think people would eat that up. I know I would! I'm not saying someone should do it, (Lord knows I know nothing about running a studio or producing) but man, if someone was hiring a young adult male for there WAM studio here in California, I would hop on that shit right away. I mean, who wouldn't want to enjoy their fetish and kinks AND get paid for it? I guess you could also count this post as a self promotion as well, if there is any WAM studio out there looking for someone that fits my description(?) I mean, I'm no model or anything, but that won't stop me.
But what do you guys think? Am I just being ridiculous, or do I bring a good point? Or is there actually WAM production here that describes what I said, and I'm just blind?
There are several male content studios in the UK and most female studios also do some or have a subsection.
I suspect it's got a lot to do with there being a lot of individual men selling content and there's a lot of competition for profits. There's a lot of free content posted voluntarily, too.
There is such a proliferation of men willing to model it's likely only the most popular will get paid at all.
The men that do get paid are unsurprisingly frequently adult sex performers carrying a following for their other work.
I feel like the WAM scene among gay or bi men tends to be more participatory, more about doing than watching. A lot of content is shared free, and where people sell videos it's often more of a sideline to something they'd be doing for fun anyway. So for more produced types of session that take more effort and expense to do, there's the question of whether the return would be worth it, and the answer is less often yes.
There may not be anyone doing them now but I spent years making content for men and I often cast younger guys. I have over a hundred videos of men getting pies and messy. Comedic videos with Uppercrust Films and more erotic videos with AbsPecsPies.
I retired in 2015 but if I was still doing them I would have definitely cast you in one of them.
Clearly I don't know anything about how the industry is structured or segmented but I've had the same thought before. I struggle to believe that there isn't some sort of potential audience for the kind of thing you're describing
How many traditional "WAM studios" that aren't just dudes fooling around with their SO's and personal friends are really left these days? It's a big investment, considering how before you even make your first sale you've gotta pay your talent, who always expects their full rate the day of the shoot. As someone who still hires professional models for his videos, I'm not spending all that money on just anyone, I don't care how much he or she loves WAM. We're not running a charity.
But at least you're making yourself available, which is a start. Reach out to anyone who's shooting style/approach to WAM you like and see if you can make a case for your presence bringing in more money for the producer than you expect to get paid yourself. Of course you'd love to get hired--everyone would love to get hired for their dream job. Make it make sense for the employer. But honestly, if you're really looking to make money getting messy and can't convince any existing producer to invest in you, it may be time to break out the cell phone and do some self-WAMming in the tub like everyone else.
There's a load of producers making male content, mostly in the UK - myself (Great British Gunge Tank), Quizbob, Splat, Gungemad, BroadcastThis and Messyworld.
A couple in the states too, Splatter Island, SlopTV (which has sadly stopped making material).
There's more male wam available than ever before, but it's mostly not on the UMD store
Muddyskater said: Like a lot of the guys who have said in this thread there are sites, locations and groups here in the Uk as I'm sure there are around most places, but there is a ageist attitude for slim or toned fit guys used in group sessions and on videos while those of us a little older or maybe not so toned like rugby players are often sidelined to generally over priced session meets with guys who are generally looking bored and fed up. but keep hunting you'll find what you seek
Producers shoot with guys that will sell material, and the buying public dictate who those guys are. I've seen quite a few people complain that producers won't shoot with them - why should producers give up their day to shoot with someone they know won't sell and lose hundreds of pounds?
