Almost certainly without authorization, an employee of Tulane University posted this behind the scenes photo from today's NFL Wild Card game which is bring broadcast on Nickelodeon.
While many folks have long worked to approximate the YCDTOTV-style chunky green slime of the 80s and 90s, it seems the current stuff is commercially available and comes from an adhesives company in Southern California which markets it as "Studio Paste."
Perhaps that's a bucket of concentrated slime and needs diluting.
Honestly I bet people here know a lot more about slime. Like the Nickelodeon people aren't like "Oh yea better get the consistency perfect" they probably just found someone supplying something slimey and moved on.

You're probably right on the dilution thing. I worked in hazardous chemicals for a number of years and if there's one thing that nobody likes, it's paying to ship water across the country.
Still though, makes ya wonder about liability, etc... Surely, someone who frequents this forum was actually slimed by Nickelodeon. Did they make you sign a waiver or something, lol?
REEEAAALLLLYYYY exciting!!! They are not far from me, either! I emailed them to see what happens... if it's not too much $$$ and they are willing to sell to the public... looks like I will be finding somewhere to keep some Nick Slime. Thanks for this post!!!
They just replied to my email about pricing. You CAN buy it... $134 for a 5-gallon bucket... this is of course plus tax. He did not mention anything about shipping. But if you are interested just email them and they reply very quickly it seems. I will not be buying any just yet... but I am dreaming of this moment to come...
Now I'm like... obviously Nickelodeon has bank but WOAHHH.... $134 for every 5 gallons and seeing how much they use... no wonder the facade of this adhesives factory is spotless hahaha....

Remember, that's concentrate.
If I were to guess, it's probably a 1 - 10 dilution.
Being in the industries I have been in. Far as the "irritation" goes. Depending on the chemicals making it they have to put that on the MSD. It might actually do nothing to 90% of the people, but it is an eye irritant I would suspect and if you have sensitive skin it could be a thing.
It makes sense they farm this out now. They used to make it in house in Florida (from a documentary thing I saw decades ago). But now that they are mostly in California for production and use normal studios. Farming it out to a vendor makes sense. The cost they pay is not the cost the public will pay. Basically due to bulk. Far as the concentrate thing. I doubt it is concentrated. As somebody that has produced a fair amount of community theater and some pro things. We want to buy it and use it. Not cut it down. The "1/4 thickness" on the 55 gallon drums is probably for different use cases. If you drop a 5 gallon bucket on somebody you want it to be thick and stick for TV. Especially H.D. and now 4k productions. HD changed the game in makeup and effects, 4k upped that. Things that read great in 60 lines old TV read like crap in HD so they had to change how they did things. The 1/4 thickness is probably used for tanks and such where the quantity is the thing and it is a thinner consistency because non-wammers need to move through it. It reads ok because the person is covered head to toe and get outs of the tank.
