I've been playing around with some videos I need to edit, and I was wondering what your thoughts on the NHP klaxon in amateur videos are. Given the right speed of the gunge pour, I feel like it works well, but I'm asking as a producer to a consumer. Good to use, or too clichéd?
There was an interesting discussion of that here just over a year ago, with some very good points made, in particular theStickyTrickster some very good info about how to use it correctly (and how most WAM producers get it wrong).
A producer called Extremgunk used a Klaxon and other sound effects on some of his productions Personally I would rather settle for a pump sound as a precursor to a gunging .
I don't love it but it doesn't annoy me as much as the fake squelch/fart sounds that some producers use while the gunge is falling. Gunge creates its own splatter sound effects, just let it do it's thing.

There was some random dude who thought it was a good idea to take videos from YouTube, and add those sounds, and the "comedic" pie splat sound. They were just ridiculous.
