And yea, Owen Osprey (not mentioned yet) is an identity I created for recruiting purposes there. Firewalling Tropical Shots Media from Mud Puddle Visuals seemed really important at the time. But after a while, it really didn't matter.
Thank you Dave for this MPV Trails video. I've always been intrigued about TSM and how it was put together. Man what a Story, and really looking forward to learn more on that. I didn't knew you had spent so much time over there. A few things I'm still puzzled. You filmed with TSM a lot more girl fight or mud wrestling content than you did with MPV. Any insight why you made that decision? Also with all the time you spent in the Philipines were you concerned about your security? There were real concerns in that area.
The first trip was all about getting started. That involved locating models and locations and developing credentials with both. So the scenes were necessarily basic.
Once we settled into the mango plantation, and constructed our first clay pit, I moved into some simple mud glamour stuff, played to the camera. But the easiest scenes to direct was just having them play - and they were all good at that. These gals were all born from the mid 80's to the early nineties. They didn't have smart phones to keep them inside when they we kids. They knew how to play. Later, when we got into topless situations, the range for the mud content spilled over into MPV themes.
Regarding security, I always had people around me (mostly my ex-wife's family). There are a lot of moving parts to this aspect of it all. But by 2015, I was driving on my own down to San Fernando to go golfing and occasionally to the mall etc.
Having said that, I would not recommend going anywhere in Southeast Asia alone. Even in a 90 Day Fiancé situation. Take a friend. There are ex-pats everywhere as well. But I wouldn't trust them any more than a typical Filipino. Good for information though.
In a best case scenario, you can find a driver/fixer and pay for his loyalty. The main thing about the Angeles area is that a lot of power is wielded by Koreans. Avoid them.
