Interesting article.....though ironic that they compare these Chicago girls to the G.L.O.W. remake series on Netflix...but the original GLOW ladies never did mud wrestling and only did non mud wrestling scenes and a couple of minor pie scenes....so the GLOW ladies were a big disappointment, and the recent remake of GLOW was even more disappointing because they had nothing of wam interest at all in that series.
A better reference for them to make would have been the original Chicago Knockers mud wrestling girls of the 1980's....now those matches were great, though sadly few of them were captured on film or videotape and the few that exist are poor quality....e.g.

I don't know why these mud wrestlers need to be "underground"....it is not illegal like moon shining....this is mild stuff by today's standards.

i do not agree that EVERYTHING needs to be fetishized... just because glow didnt do mud wrestling doesnt mean them or the series wasnt good imo... i think fetish stuff needs to stay fetish stuff, and should not be expected to be incorporated into everything
*edit* im not saying that people cant point out cool wam content that happens to present itself... i just personally find it silly to act like our own personal fetish is the standard that everyone else needs to adhere to is all. i see it all the time here lol
WAM wrestling unfortunately seems to be a dying art. YouTube use to always have constant WAM wrestling clips coming in from backyard parties and clubs. for years now its been just the same old clips or older clips being uploaded over and over. With states becoming so conservative and PC WAM events are now being shut down which was the case where I live, they were deemed " too risque" 
I tend to agree with Regis....i.e. if mud wrestling is not a fetish, then what is the point of watching it...because it is certainly not a sport and it is definitely not high brow art or Masterpiece Theatre that will stimulate your brain....it is designed to stimulate only one thing.
Taking the fetishistic aspects out of mud wrestling would be like taking away all the gambling aspects of horse racing.....i.e. would anybody want to watch horse racing if there was no gambling allowed.
Perhaps that is why we see very little mud wrestling on tv and movies these days....because feminists and the politically correct folks hate the sexual aspects of mud wrestling and the the ONLY reason to watch mud wrestling is for the sexual aspects, otherwise it is pointless. Same could be said for wet t shirt contests - does anybody watch wet t shirt contests for non sexual reasons.....likewise what's the point of horse racing without the factor of gambling being a reason to watch it.
Who would want to watch a non sexual mud wrestling match ...I can't think of any reasons except for guilty pleasure.....if the 2016 election was decided by Hillary Clinton mud wrestling with Trump....hell yeah....I would watch that just for laughs.

I'm not 100% sure, but I seem to recall seeing an old 80s wrestling show on Youtube a couple of years ago (sort of WWF type) that featured a segment with some ladies in a big outdoor mud wrestling contest (basically every woman for herself). I think two of the ladies were from GLOW. Unfortunately I don't know anything else about the show and i've not been able to find the link again. Does anyone know any more about this? Any info would be appreciated, thanks.

I think what you're referring to is an old WCCW match. They had to my knowledge 3 mud wrestling matches at 3 separate outdoor wrestling events, one is the infamous Missy Hyatt vs Sunshine mud match which apparently there's no video footage of , another match involving Sunshine and Missy Hyatts personal pick a woman by the name Raven, and then there was the battle royal you're referring to. Sadly again there's no video of the singles matches, and the only evidence of the match I think you saw is barely 2 minutes long.
