My day job has a corporate partnership of sorts with Fuji and I get a remarkable discount on their gear. I decided to upgrade the camera I use for video (going from x-t3 to x-t4) because they added IBIS and some upgraded video functions. It was on back order but just became available! I sold my x-t3 and 18-55 to my good buddy and will be replacing the lens with the 16-80 IS. I prefer using primes for my still photography, but having IBIS in the body and IS on the lens will lead to SIGNIFICANTLY smoother video when I need to shoot handheld rather than on a tripod. I'll get to use them for the first time in my shoots with Sober K and Honey Heptane this weekend. Mega excited!!
My Fujifilm lens collection is rounding out nicely now. I focus mostly on primes for my still work, but the image stabilized zooms are pretty nice for video production. For shooting photos I still prefer a rangefinder style body so I shoot stills on my xpro2. I adore the 56mm f/1.2 for portrait work, the 35mm f/2 is my most frequently used general purpose lens. I picked up the 55-200 for trips to the zoo and some landscape work. Just grabbed the 16mm f/1.4 which I've used in closer quarter shoots and it's kinda replaced my 18mm f/2, but I still keep the 18 in my street shooting bag because it's much lighter. I wish fuji would make a native fish eye but until then I use the Samyang/Rokinon. The 10-24mm f/4 sees use from time to time for some perspective shots and occasional landscape work too
BlueScreen said: I just got an X-T3 yesterday. I am a complete novice to photography and cameras (hoping to shoot landscapes & cars). It's good to know that so many professionals use the X series cameras, but it probably means I went in a little over my head. Looking forward to seeing the new videos!
I was a hardcore canon shooter for a long time but started my lust for mirrorless with the x-e1. I'm now almost 100% fuji in my gear collection. With an increasing call for large format prints, I'm actually considering GFX in the coming future
If you need any pointers or ever wanna talk photo, feel free to drop me a DM. I've been shooting since I was in second grade and learned how to work my grandparents' 35mm rangefinder
