I was rewatching Rob Blaine's Messy Fun classic, "Ariel's Pie Shop" today & got an idea.
I took screenshots during a shot that pans down, & layered different pieces & elements in photoshop. Then cloned, & used the "content aware" deletion function as needed to create a new, near full-body shot - which is also technically an image that has never existed before?
What other scenes with a pan up or down can you think of that you'd like to see me try this process again on? I think the image quality of "Ariel's Pie Shop" aided the process of making the composite more convincing, so the more like classic VHS WAM your suggestions are, the better!
Maybe I'll do a time-lapse process video next time too?
(I wouldn't have had the same compulsion for day-drinking that lead to me getting this idea in the pre-COVID era, so - thanks?)

Cool! Interesting technology I wasn't aware of.
I'm a little bit still a sucker for the look of lo-fi video, but it certainly literally & figuratively sharpens the image!
Cheers.
If you decide you want sharper images, it's called Topaz Sharpen AI. But I hear you regarding the softer focus of older material. I just prefer them sharper and it does a very nice job. Again, what you do is amazing, putting that image together the way you did.

Or back in Photoshop the 'shake reduction' filter is one I often use to perk up screen shots and has pretty much the same effect (though granted most people won't have PS suite).
Incidentally I did this kind of job on a panning shot from a Messygirl film some years ago. I'll try to dig it out. It's a very enjoyable thing to do.
