Planning a savory shoot later this week and need some suggestions for substances, only caveat is it has to be stuff that is relatively bland and won't irritate eyes or private parts. So far I have:
-beans -spaghetti o's -cheese -sour cream
Any suggestions are much appreciated, will post pics by end of week
-Ranch or Thousand Island dressing? -Mayo? -Something like soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce would be very thin, but that's an option. -If you make mashed potatoes with enough liquid (you could even use a chicken or vegetable stock if you want to avoid dairy), they could become sort of pourable. -Similarly, you could probably use something like vegetable oil to thin out guacamole until it becomes kind of pudding-like.
I'm guessing on some of these (can you tell I watch too much Food Network?), but I bet you could do some mad-science stuff and come up with something interesting
Tomato soup / passata, mashed potato, and instant gravy are all things we've used successfully, generally in combination. Also spaghetti hoops and baked beans as already mentioned above. Margarine, microwaved briefly to make it soft, is good, particularly in hair, though obviously it doesn't mix well with other water based substances so needs a bit of thought. Eggs are fun and very slippery.
We used the first three most memorably in a role play where I came to complain to the "manager" (my wife), that one of her waiting team had spilled something on us when serving us earlier, and the "manager" asked me to demonstrate to her just what had happened
I definitely agree with bbq sauce. I've always loved the idea of using the different salad dressings out there like ranch, blue cheese, thousand island, honey mustard, etc. All with great texture and very chunky or thick!
