Hi all, need advice from anyone who has a store, I'm filling in the information but need some clarification on option differences.
In the Payment info there are various Payment destination options some USA only, I'm in the UK so I think Wire or Ppal are the options but I'm not sure, it also says cost next to each option but I might be misreading what that refers to.
I also wasn't sure if I leave the minimum payout balance box blank or not.
The only other thing is in the tax identification, there are 2 non US forms to select between and sign.
The tax forms - as I remember one is for businesses, the other for individuals. The item you want on whichever one you fill in is "Royalties". There's a tax agreement between the US and the UK - we don't tax their creators here, because they get taxed there, and they don't tax us there, because we get taxed here.
Payouts: You want PayPal. There is a cost, about 4% I think, but any other option will cost more.
Note be very careful of your PP account, do NOT use it to take payment for custom scenes or anything else wam-related unless you have their written permission to do so. They count it as sex work and will ban you from the platform, which will then screw up getting your UMD payments.
Payments from UMD stores via PP are OK as they count as business-to-business transactions as they are royalty / revenue payments, not one-to-one transactions for sexual services.
Minimum payout has a default of about $100 I think. In the early days you'll only make income very slowly. But over time as you have more and better content, it'll gradually improve. Took me seven years to start breaking even, don't expect to get rich quick.
And make sure to read the full store TOS (click the "Terms & Privacy" link in the blue area at the bottom of all UMD pages) before shooting scenes, esp the bits about logos and TV show references. You don't want to shoot something and then find it can't be sold because the models were wearing shirts with a banned logo on, as one example of an expensive mistake to avoid.
