I'm a longtime lurker, but made an account specifically so I could get your advice. I somewhat recently revealed my slimy desires to my wife, and she was so on board that she went online and bought a giant jar of methylcellulose.
I'm looking for your best slime recipe using it! Here's my ideal slime:
Consistency: thick, sticks to skin and drips slowly and somewhat stringy.
Color: I'd like to color it pink for her, since that's her favorite color, and I'll be okay if it's not opaque, but I'd really prefer that it be.
If anyone remembers the slime from Mudbunny's video entitled "Superfluous," that's the most ideal. I don't know what that's made with so I'm aware that might not be possible, but as close as possible with methylcellulose.
First, congrats! You guys are going to have a lot of fun. I'd be interested to hear how you introduced wam to your wife.
My favorite slime recipe is simply cake batter. Getting white cake mix and adding red food coloring can give you that opaque, pink look. There are ways to make it stringy, but I can't recall what to add. I do think it'd be interesting mixing with methylcelluose to experiment on consistency, but I always like to think about how safe it is to consume, especially when sploshing with a partner. I'm heading out right now, but if nobody pops up with the stringy answer, I'll do some research.
Also, you and your wife might enjoy my book. It's for beginners, and has some good info in there.
Methylcellulose is one of those slimes that takes a little bit of finesse to mix properly, I honestly don't remember the ratio for a nice thick consistency but I do know that certain types need to first be dissolved in very cold water and then that mix added to hot water so it disperses and thickens up properly.

Thanks for your help!
From what I remember, they used white cake mix which is inherently opaque, powdered or gel food coloring, a lot of corn syrup, and a small amount of water to thin it to the desired texture. Beyond that, you can get creative and add a few tablespoons of J-Lube powder (completely inert and taste free) to the cake mix before adding water. That's near guaranteed to give it further desired stringy-ness and likely add some sheen to the mix as well. Beyond that, a battery powered drill/driver with a paint stirring attachment will save you about an hour of mixing small batches one or two boxes at a time if you want to go for a relatively large amount.
Wamlanta, I think we just got pretty drunk one night and she asked me if I had any fetishes or anything she didn't know about. And I was like "Well if you really want to know..." and I pulled up some videos.
Anyway, I had read that methylcellulose was nontoxic and safe for consumption in the kind of accidental doses that may happen in a sploshing scenario. Is that not true?
Anyway, I thought probably we'd do best to stay away from food, at least for the time being. It seems harder to clean up and also wouldn't it potentially cause her a yeast infection?
But it sounds like cake mix is kind of an ingredient that most people include, yeah? Idk. We've never done anything like this at all, just watched the videos. Even the most basic of advice would be appreciated here.
Also, sorry for taking so long to respond. I'll check this for sure tomorrow because we're planning to do it this weekend.
I use this as guide when mixing gunge. I tend the add a few extra grams of methyl and it thickens up great, and adding powered tempera makes it very opaque and I have never had a problem with it staining my skin.
One bit of advice is to properly prepare the area where you plan to play. For example, putting a plastic sheet on a bed is fine, but it must be taped down well. Also a path of towels from the play area to the shower is a good idea. Of course, playing in the shower or tub is easy for cleanup, but not as comfortable. There is nothing worse than having plastic lift up and stick to you when it's supposed to be protecting something important. You don't need distractions like that, so prepare well and you can focus on the fun.
We did it! Our first WAM experience! We just made a simple methylcellulose slime colored with powdered tempera paint. We had a ton of fun! I think I could do a better job next time even making that same mixture, but it wasn't what we were looking for ultimately.
We like the idea of adding cake mix to the slime, but my wife is concerned with getting a yeast infection from the sugar in the mix. Could we just simply use flour? Or are there any other components of cake mix that we'd also need to add?
Any other ideas for agents to thicken and opacify our slime would also be welcomed.

I'm sure it's been posted on here before (possibly by Candy?) that yeast infections are really nothing to worry about. The human body is much more resilient than you think and she's more likely to get an infection from douching too much than getting a bit of cake batter in there.
I mean she's more prone to them than average, anyway, so if sugar is avoidable by substituting store bought cake mix with something else, I'd like to try.
Plus it's probably more than a little cake batter that would get up there, considering that we'll be having sex while she's covered in it.

I'd suggest just getting some gunge powder from Messy Supplies, £5 per bag, they ship internationally , very simple to mix - fill a bucket to a couple of inches below the rim, add the powder, mix with an electric drill + paint mix attachment, under 5 mins and you've a perfect bucket of bright colourful slime just like they use on TV. Completely inert, no sugars, it's food grade so does no harm if swallowed. And being warm is nice to play in.
I buy mine from messysupplies.com, you can get as much as you want, either ready made or in powder, it also comes in different thickness , types and colours, all you need to do is add water ( Luke warm preferably
