Im new to umd site but not to getting caked up in mud.
Once I get muddy I tend to hose my clothes down before putting in washing machine. I now have a new machine and want to carry on getting muddy but not use the new washer. Has anyone ever got muddy or messy and used a launderette to wash your clothes? If so what kind of reaction did you get? What excuses if any did you use for your clothes being so messy? Did you encounter any issues? Many Thanks Matt
First, when I go mudding, there is always some source of water near by...If I made the pit myself, there is a garden hose, if it's natural, then usually a lake, pond or river. Either way, this is a source to 'pre-clean' clothes, body, etc. If your mud spots are similar, then you can at least get clothes 'looking' pretty clean - even in pond water.
Second, I usually have on mostly nothing - though sometimes start in a spandex top/shorts, but either way, clean-up is pretty easy for fairly light weight fabrics, so you might consider those type for your sessions.
Lastly, if I do get back home with extra mud, the garden hose makes quick work of the bulk mud, and shower or utility sink takes care of the last bits. If you don't have options for pre-cleaning and/or light weight clothes, perhaps a heavy garbage bag would get you to a place for a clean water rinse?
So given all that, I'd suspect by the end of the treatment, my mud clothes are no more dirty than day-to-day work clothes.
If all that fails, my go-to response if anyone asks "why so dirty?", "why so many bags of clay?", "why 3 dozen jars of marshmallow fluff?" is to say, "Charity [appropriate substance] wrestling event."
Hi some good points thanks. Think I need to reload think fabrics. I use sports gear butility also like jeans which are very heavy.
Found new spots tonight but no clean water at present thank fully no one else was home so managed to get clothes in washing machine as the urge was strong and got muddy twice.
My other issue is that I am in my thirtit's and still live with parents.
Thanks for laundry ideas least I have some excuses if needed.
