Underwhelming. I know I was supposed to not go there today but I couldn't help myself. I parked and walked in with my head down. I stayed only for about 5 minutes. The pits I saw were not shin deep like we are used to at this event. I saw about 6 pits and they were ankle deep at best and one that was still being used seemed like the "mud" was already back to solid.
I you are coming from out of town, be warned. Cleanup in the river seemed pretty good, I saw a couple guys wading on a sand bar that was only shin deep, so that seemed do-able.
I will check out the remaining pits tomorrow afternoon, but first impressions are not good. I'm sure the charity will continue to make lots of money, but not so good for us conissuers (sp) of deep mud.
