Hi everyone,

Is there an alternative to mud (similar look and feel) that can be used in a wam session? I'm moving into a new apartment alone for the first time and wanted to experiment - however I don't want to use clay since I will need to wash things off down the drain later and don't want to risk clogging it (or is clay safe to rinse off provided I run the shower like mad)?

I'm thinking of cake mix right now.

You might order some methylcellulose off amazon and mix it pretty thick and color it brown. It's not terribly expensive.

Does methylcellulose wash off easy in the shower (in other words, any risk of clogging the pipes up)? Any risk for internal use?

Ask user MessyMinxxy. She's used the instant mud substitute before. I'm not sure of the results.

Depending on the consistency of the "mud" you're looking for, both cake batter or pudding can make suitable alternatives, and both wash down the drain with relative ease (especially pudding).

Is cake batter easy to make.

How about chocolate syrup?
