As it is her birthday today I posted the old 1994 MTV scene where Kurt Loder pies Idalis.

Note the letter she received from a pie fan that she is referring to. This was back in the days before UMD existed, but as I recall, that letter was written to her by one of Hurley's pie mafia circle of friends, and in the early 90's Hurley and his mafia had some pretty good success with their letter writing campaigns to various celebs to request that they take a pie for the sake of humanity. This was one of their sucesssful outcomes. I forget who it was who wrote the letter to Idalis, but I am pretty sure that person is still around and hangs out on this forum, so kudos for getting a successful outcome on this one. For some reason I lost the original tape where I had this clip sent to me by Hurley and Co, and it disappeared from Youtube, so I had to hunt for an old backup copy on my wamgold archives server and restore it.

Anyway...the clip is restored now and loaded to my youtube channel for posterity.

Nice! I remember sending you a VHS dub of the copy I taped off the broadcast the day it happened, with all the buildup. I wonder if this is the same source.... (My original VHS is sadly lost to the annals of time..)

I am not sure, it could have been your tape, but I disposed of all the VHS tapes in my house (6000 of them) 3-4 years ago....I was grabbing the best bits from each tape as I converted them to DVDs and online files every week....then putting piles of them in my garbage bins each week for 18 months.

The person who wrote letters constantly to celebs and had a lot of success was (I think) a guy called Michael from the Las Vegas area.

Thats all I can recall.

I saw the pics from this years ago, but I had never seen the clip.

I wasn't that hot on the pics, but after seeing the clip, it was a cute set-up, and her reaction was great!

Mark, I think you might be right about Michael from Las Vegas. One of our other best successes was Rhonda Shear. This was back in the early '90s when Hurley was pumping out a Magnum (PIE) newsletter every month, where he shared photos, stories, and news about pied women.
