Does anyone remember this show besides me? Bizarre was an oddball Canadian sketch comedy show that ran from 1980-86, probably best known for the great Bob Einstein creating his character "Super Dave" Osborne.
Because my parents had Showtime, it came across my radar, and I was immediately intrigued because it featured two things that fascinated pre-teen me: Boobs and Pies. It's an extremely slapstick show that was already dated at the time and would NOT air in its present form today.... And yes, one recurring gag was having attractive women randomly remove their tops for no good reason whatsoever. Another was randomly throwing in pie-in-the-face humor... which, unfortunately, did NOT happen to the women. (Or my pre-teen brain would've exploded.) Mostly it was just the older, square "producer" character. That said, there was something amazing about just watching ANY TV show devote 3 minutes to just hitting one poor guy with 20+ pies.... which they did, a couple times. Before I knew what WAM was, this was my first intro to a "pie barrage".... albeit with the wrong gender (for me).
SO. It warms my heart that a YouTube channel in 2021 was created solely to upload full HD versions of "The Best Of Bizarre." Which seems to cover the entire show, since it's 100 different episodes? Anyway, still holding out hope that some of the TV shows containing our "Holy Grail" scenes eventually get this same treatment.
The pie barrage I mentioned happens in Volume 9, Episode 9 BTW. And another in Volume 4, Episode 9. The naked breasts are literally in every third episode. You're welcome.
Fuck, yaaas, I remember Bizarre. Aired on CTV at around 10:00 on Fridays, and IIRC, I think Super Dave Osborne's show ended up being a pretty popular spin-off of this. Also, hellllll no, John Byner would never have gotten away with half that stuff now (the recurring skits around the family named "The Bigots" alone would have gotten them banned.)

To me, one of the funniest bits they ever did was showing the ENTIRE taping of a skit about a kidnapping-for-ransom - they left the cameras rolling through all the bloopers and outtakes. It was amazing to see how much fun they had behind the scenes!
Ha! This one missed my radar, but it sounds like a naughtier version of Benny Hill show... We didn't get Showtime until about 1990 in my household, so I watched a lot of Super Dave Osbourne around that time. He had an episode where he opened a 'comedy amusement park'. I was so excited to see pies, but the only thing that happened was one of SDs assistant got a pie in his chest.
