With the new Mildred Burke biopic on the way I wonder if us WAM Wrestling fans can finally get to see a re-creation of what's considered to be a "Holy Grail " match find, the Mud wrestling match between Mildred Burke and Leona Gordon! If so i hope the director understands the assignment and gives it time like the mud wrestling scene from "The Stick up"
In the early 1990s Roger Carpenter (R.I.P) of Aquantics sent me over an hour of Mildred Burke mud wrestling films from the late 1950's, including bouts with War Star, Panama Franco, Jackie West, Laura de Rio. These were color films in 16mm converted to VHS. The holy grail that you refer to comes from 20 years earlier in the late 1930s and would not be in color if footage existed.
Perhaps one of newsreel services captured some footage from that time period, because British Pathe News captured this 1939 match held in Australia.
