Hello. I was hoping to find a US equivalent of Messy Supplies Gunge. It's just the shipping is so much that I was hoping to find something similar here in the states. Any tips? Thanks so much!
If its food stuff, try GFS for bulk cans, mixes.... But for slime supplies, good luck in finding it in bulk. Wal-Mart has been my go to for shave cream, but bulk glue has been on-line art/school supplies.
Without knowing an exact equivalent I can't be too helpful, but if you have some time to prep, you can try xanthan gum. It can be bought in major supermarkets in the baking aisle. It's used in gluten free cooking to do the binding that wheat gluten does.
And it's very powerful. On a per-cup basis, you add teaspoons. One gives the consistency of italian dressing, and I think like 8 gives you a really loose jello.
The down side is you HAVE to use small appliances. It can't be mixed by hand, without adding cooking oil. If you use an egg beater, you'll need to beat it for a while.
Also, what you can do, if you want a large amount, is mix a very potent batch, then cut it with additional water once the gum is dissolved. Dilluting it can be done by hand.
I recommend you play around with "small" amounts first. Small being defined as an 8 oz bag. At 6 teaspoons per ounce, you can get a lot out of it.
