On the "Rob Riggle" thread, somebody commented how they feel they've "been spoiled by wam producer content". How many of you feel the same? Producer content is amazing for giving us huge amounts of what we crave, but you don't get excited by a pie or a mudpit appearing on your favorite television show anymore?
I'd say this community and this site has been a treasure for content. Not including sexual acts, you'll be lucky finding good splosh coverage mainstream shows. Moreso on Youtube. Looking for more specific and niche? Good luck finding it on telly or on Youtube if it's not age restricted or banned because it's claimed to be porn. Instagram? If you can manage to maintain a WAM account without ever getting banned, you did something right. Case in point: Kym Douglas stepped in a couple pies barefoot on Ellen during a segment. Is it on Ellen's Youtube? No. It's cut out that part. Last I saw it was on Dailymotion if it still exists.
TV show clips were great 30 years ago when those brief glimpses were all you were ever going to see unless you were a millionaire and could hire your own models, pro-TV studio, and production crew, but compared to modern scenes produced specifically for our taste, it'd be like wanting to go back to a 12" black and white portable TV with only 3 channels when the alterantive is a 50" 4k flatscreen with all of Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Disney+ available.
Other than some Eastern gameshows that appear to actually be WAM content, on the rare occasions any WAM comes up on a mainstream non-game show it's invariably one or more of: terrible camera angles, cuts away just before the money shot, dominated by wrong gender host, no view of the aftermath, terrible outfits, so badly lit you can't really see what's happening, or just incredibly brief.
I am one of the rare people who prefers mainstream WAM-- it is what got me into the first place. Don't get me wrong, producer WAM is great and getting better. The quality of the mess and the models are top notch. Beautiful women getting tons of mess, what it to complain about. Still, nothing beats the thrill of a good mainstream WAM scene on a great target.
My user name is CKCP-- it stands for Calvin Klein Cream Pies. Back in 1983 I was a young teen who knew I had this fetish for girls getting hit with pies but I really REALLY thought I was alone. It was just such a bizarre thing to be turned on by. Anyway, staying up late on a weekend and watching Saturday Night Live. They had one of their usual commercial parodies segments. This one with Julia Louis Dreyfus-- yes, she used to be on SNL and, if you think she was cute/hot/pretty on Seinfeld, you should have seen her on SNL. Anyway, she was in this commercial parody of a famous Calvin Klein ad featuring Brooke Shields. She is acting typically bratty (like Brooke in the real commercial) when BLAMMO she is hit with a pie. Now, a lot of you have seen this clip. Coverage-wise it kinda sucks, but boyohboy did I like it. HOLY SHIT! It was like God knew what I wanted to see and pointed his finger at the TV and it happened. So, next week, I am watching SNL again-- knowing that the odds of another pie in the face for Julia are about the same as someone being struck by lightning twice. But deep down I am thinking, maybe.... maybe. Show starts and there is Julia in the cold open. Another Calvin Klein ad-- this one mocking Andie MacDowell-- and my heart was racing, I felt like it was going to leap out of my chest. She took 2 pies!! I am in heaven.
Again, these two scenes are crap compared to produced scenes. The coverage was poor, etc. I experienced similar "thrills" watching other mainstream clips (Three's Company, Electric Company, etc.)But the thrill I got watching those scenes cannot be matched by producer content. I don't know why, but it just can't. And I love produced content. My .02 cents
I get more of a thrill from good WAM in mainstream entertainment, if its well done, matches my interests ect. Thats rare: Great Race, Threes Company. The surprise is also part of the excitement. But it doesn't happen often and it usually isn't done well. (Why are all mainstream thrown in the pool scenes at night?) So I make do with producer content especially if it has something of a plot, not just a pretty girl standing there and getting his with a pie or bucket of water.

Oh no! I've been called out! (I'm the one who posted that comment)
To actually answer the question now, I think the reason why I prefer producer content over mainstream WAM is that I've actually kinda "grown-up" with producer content more so than mainstream WAM. YouTube was already a thing when I was a kid and an early teen, so I had access to tons of producer content which gave me "examples" that I consider WAM to be if that makes sense.

What creates the "feel" of mainstream WAM for you? Gameshow setting or something else?
